But how much will they laugh if GDA folds and lose their spots on WC ECNL to the GDA players

In the so called top leagues that is true.

For cryin out loud. If you want a spot on a WC team, try out and take it if you can. That is a good thing. If you dont want it, try out for another club.

And, I'll note, commentary like that really doesn't do anyone any good. Like DA, or don't like them, nobody with any ounce of seriousness could make a statement that the town rec board does a better job than USSF.

Conversations just break down in this case.
I am very serious .... my town rec board produces really bad soccer players for far less than USSF does.

they arent a national league either. please dont take every comment an try and make it pro/con. Both leagues are not what they pretend to be.

You mean by trying to sell stupid parents across the USA that their formerly NPL teams and NPL coaches (plus a few ECNL kids here) will be better and play better soccer than anything we have seen so far and produce better NT players and pros than before (even though their effort on the men's side has been a miserable fail and the women's NT has been the cream of the crop without them for 30 years! GIVE ME A BREAK!!! They wouldn't try as hard as they do if they weren't each raking in cash. Like every other youth sports racket in the world, it is about them and how much they can profit from it.

There isnt enough for ONE unless you really stretch the definition of talent

No not at all. again, another person projecting way too much. The USSF are selling you on full time > part time. Thats really it. the rest is pure Gladwell - 10,000s hours will increase the odds of producing better players. it will. But unless there is a real purpose to getting there, why bother.

The rest of what you say is just fluff.

And I really dont care. GDA worked very well for us as did the ECNL. Both a means to an end. Im not looking for anything more than good training and a place to practice. Dont care what the badge says. Too many people do.

I don't care either but if there were less badges out there more talent might end up together instead of spread thin.

Why don't we do what Germany or other European countries do? 1 league controlled by the national federation....the top teams are in div. 1, 2nd tier teams in Div 2 and so on....oh wait, what about the $$$$$$$$$$ that all the existing US leagues would lose?????

US Soccer has made a total mess of things and it will never change..... we are not a soccer first country we are a $$$$$ first country...this will never change as well.

They tried. It's call the United States Soccer Development Academy.

They asked ECNL to be the 2nd tier, and they said no.

What? Some customers said no and some said yes.

nope. the ECNL is the board. They said no and actively banned other members from even trying to offer the competing product

I seem to recall that 2 years ago, NYSC made GDA offers to any WC ECNL Player they could get the ear of. They must have thought very highly of the WC ECNL leadership and their training
