what does this have to do with anything. whatever the path, very few kids make the national team. USSF just want players better prepared. In the current system there is no doubt in my mind that players who buy in to the GDA system and have the talent will improve.

GDAs biggest problem is unrealistic parents and poor clubs quite willing to exploit that.

Exploitation and manipulation drive every con game including high level youth soccer. Us soccer had previously criticized many of the worst abuses that it include in its gda (and BDA model).

I don't understand your response, my comment was based on our own perspective, a player that has been invited to several camps, but not anymore. I was mocking the theory that GDA is not off-track, and thinking the system we had was actually working, and I loved GDA, it WAS a great concept, and I don't think it will dominate.

Is that really adding anything to this thread?

that tends to be the assumption from people whose kids are not invited to camps. Truth is its more about which coaches are in charge and how they do the job. Some want kids they have already invested tactical time in. Others want variety. Some try and use the role to repay favors or build equity for life after the YNTs.

the U20s as an example often favor non College players because they believe the College kids are getting god coaching anyways. They dont need to bring them in to get a read on them.

There's some politics but it's not nearly as rampant as the non-invited people think there is.

Keep telling yourself that .... we see the results. It appears that mostly the wrong kids getting invited, coaches, and scouted.

He probably meant that for the Fury thread, lol.

you imply that the "right" kids would change results. I dont think they would.

Corrupt or no the pool is very small. They only scout kids from fancy clubs with silly travel. They only even consider a small percentage of the potential talent available and they narrow even further before puberty even hits. The gda is about something but it is not about finding and developing soccer talent. Every other country does it differently. Every single one.

Op here and yes you're absolutely right there. The US sucks at first identifying talent, and then developing it.
