NEFC posts on every thread in every region. Apparently, they are master marketers. A friend who lives in the region pulled her daughter from the club because they only grabbed strong players from other clubs and did nothing to develop her. She is now going to the college of her dreams. Go figure.

I agree, it's laughable. Clubs might (and probably do) post in their own region but not all over.

NEFC and their crazy parents wrote the book on planting posts in different regions.

I recall a player who currently is a UVA who did that for a few years
The landscape of soccer changes every year. What worked a few yrs ago doesnt today. High school has many kids who dont pkay soccer outside of high school. How is that a challenge? Jmho

Do you think it is just parents? I think coach(es).

What's the point? What good does it do them? They have zero presence here. If they do it they are wasting their time. No one here gives a sh*t about NEFC except when their kid has to play them, which is a whopping 3 hours over ten months.

                  There's some paranoia going on

Don't let anyone decide what is best for your child.

Best advice ever, however with the caveat that the parent has a clue. Some sadly do not and they push their kids into situations where they shouldn't be. I've seen too many kids pushed onto "top" teams, where they just sit and are miserable but the parents think that's better for the child. So the 2nd piece of advise is know your child.

Including yourself, let her decide, and to f she chooses GDA, support her.

at UVA? or playing there successfully?

I think I know who the player is. She gave up HS ball because of her National team commitment. Played on an ECNL team for years and switched to GDA last year. If it’s the same player, she’s doing quite well as a freshman starter on the UVA team

And northeast GDA has lots of kid who can't make varsity teams, so they quit HS. How is that much of a commitment?

sounds like an atypical player to quote as an example. Not many players around here who are going to be YNT top 10 team starters as freshmen. So if you remove players of that type, is your advice still the same?
