I just got a text message that you were answering questions on this site. I too have a pretty good understanding of the things that are going on with the 2 clubs. Your assessment of the WC feelings for the GDA are off, but I can understand why you may feel that way.
1. To begin with, NYCFC coaches are actually employed by World Class Soccer Camps, the same company that supplies the coaches for, you guessed it, World Class FC. Ask any of the coaches at both clubs who their boss is, and you will get the same answer. To say they hate each other is incorrect.
2. Many families who have players on the GDA team, also have kids on WC teams too
3. World Class FC celebrates the successes of players who have left the program and gone to the GDA. Check out some of the tweets recently. Most players on the NYCFC teams were developed by our club
4. On the younger teams, many of the NYCFC girls sit on the sidelines with their old teams to support them as do the WC girls at DA games I know your daughter is older, so you don’t see that
5. WCFC has some pretty decent teams, we also have some teams that struggle as many girls did leave our program to go to the GDA in those age groups. We were hit hard last year but we were able to find some really great players who worked hard to get the teams backup to the ECNL level this year. That being said WCFC is an ECNL club that will put the best players on their ECNL teams.

While things may seem tense, I will assure you that the people who run WC want what is best for all its players. They do not make a profit on the club and do not have kids in the program. I would suggest reaching out to us at the info@wcsocceracademy.org email address if you have questions

Thanks, and in case I did not preface, I only have respect for the WC players and families, I can only report what I have seen and heard, yes there are some who live and let live, because of the uncertainty, a bunker mentality is beginning to arise with the GDA families. I hope we can all get along, as I truly believe families deserve a choice, GDA, ECNL, NPL, or EDP, its all good to me.

only issue there for an NYCFC kid is that option may no longer exist.

For now it's TS rumors, 90+% turn out to be untrue. I wouldn't worry yet but I would definitely start looking into options and get to some other practices during the quiet months. There's been too much turmoil the last few years and there's no sign of it slowing down.

If only USSF had followed that sentiment. They bit off more than they can chew. If they'd kept it simpler and smaller the quality would have been better. Create the demand and others will want in.

Dont agree. any truly elite program has to be limited by talent. It should not be a case of "others wanting it" It should be a case of others being good enough to be selected.

As soon as the GDA becomes a mass product like the ECNL its dead. The biggest flaw in it is the selection process. Demand has to be driven by talent but that model is not an economic winner

And then find another option. Age change,. Leagues getting younger and younger, gda launch, etc. etc. Only constant is change in this sport...at least for any kid 2005 and older. Seems like every year it gets blown up and you have to figure out what to do. It stinks but there is nothing the customers can do about it.

Look, my daughter is on the 02/03 team, and she loves her team and coaches, she loves wearing the NYCFC uniform, and we hope to GOD that she can continue doing so for 2 more years!

You sound like a back-tracking, know-it-all, douche. I bet you are the cancer of that entire club and I bet they wish you were gone (take your kid to, no matter if she is as good as you think). Based on your tag, you definitely think you are special and I bet there is nothing further from the truth. I bet none of your kid's teammates' parents sit anywhere near you during games.

I would suggest that you contact your coach. If she is happy with her team, her coach and the training she is getting, you may be surprised to find you can still have everything you want, the patch on her jersey may be the only thing that changes. We are too quick to pull our kids off of teams they are happy with, looking for the next best thing. Reach out to someone who has the inside scoop 😉
