So Alby told parents last night that they are combining their two DA clubs and will now only be FC Fury DA. I wonder how many already paid their $1200 deposit for next year? They were misled two years in a row. Unreal. I have friends there and I feel bad. It’s like they are even afraid to consider changing clubs and that PR may find out. So crazy.

That is sad. Albertson was always a good club to play against. Their pre-academy girls teams are pretty damn good, so it will be interesting to see if they can keep them in the mix as they age into "Fury FC" or if they lose them. LISC does not look like a bad option anymore out on LI.

Fury FC will be fine, the Albertson Fury was a train wreck start to finish and should've never existed. Combining the 2 "branches" should've been PR's intention since November, but the $$$ was just too good to pass up. Fury will take top players from Alby (yes there are a few!) and their teams will benefit on the field. Off the field might be a different story-lots of egos in play, but I wish all the kids well.
LISC just made a GREAT hire in Jen Bethea. My kid has talked to her a few times, she is really something! Might be the best hire yet. Good for them, looks like LISC might really be getting its sh!t together. Now all they need is to attract the players! I wish them well also.

The problem still remains that the top players from Fury and Alby Fury are going to play school ball. Who's going to play on the team for the entire first half of the season?? And they can't officially roster those girls until after HS season, so they could change their mind about joining anytime.

As long as there's a check being held (or already deposited) players will be fine. They'll only give a "waiver" (quotes intentional because it's not really a waiver) to the top players anyway. If you're mid level to bench warmer you won't be accommodated. Don't be surprised if the rosters have 22 or more players

For arguments sake, lets take Jablonowski on Fury 00/01 team, she is a rising senior who plays for a Catholic school on LI, why should she be able to blow-off the fall DA season?? PR has his favorites, and she is def. one of them, and its not fair to the other families. When she comes back and begins to take minutes away from players who are all-in, then its a problem, a BIG problem, as the entire mission of the GDA is to train girls who are 100% DA, not these stragglers that show one day in December....

Eh, at least 1/3 of that team played HS ball. Plus BJ was the GDA East Coast Player of the Year for 2017-18, so I guess that gives her license to do whatever she wants...

That sounds like a recipe for unhappy team to me but if it works then what do I know? There are no great options out here. You have to find something for your player that you can live with and proceed. Good luck.
