Parents should bare some blame for buying in and supporting such a ridiculous setup with Fury and Albertson...there is certainly not enough depth to have 3 GDA teams within 10 of each other, along with 2 ECNL teams.

If parents had honest evaluations of their players and what level they belong at, the leagues would be much better off. Same goes for the clubs, who should take quality over quantity.
But clubs will make money when they can.

It's a free market. That is it. If people want to sign up for a club and the club wants the player, match is made. It is always pay to play soccer. But not too long ago there were not many super expensive, uber "elite", teams and leagues so stronger players with cash got the spots. Now players with cash still get the spots but talent with cash is a rarer commodity so the teams overall are not so strong. There are no surprises here.

Parents need to be told the truth. If your roofer tells you to add this material or that because its better quality, do you question it? Or do you trust the person you put in charge to get the job done. One the roof leaks you never use that roofer again. We have been told that winning doesn't matter and its about development. We are also told our kids are great and can play at the highest level. So we buy in. When we realize that our kids still haven't been taught anything and they are 18 then its our fault. If its not working, get out early.

Parents need to smell the coffee. ALL of these clubs and leagues are businesses and there are folks involved of poor character and of good character like in every other business. Follow the money, lower your expectations, and you won't be so surprised and disappointed. Watch out for your players and their team mates. No one else will.

Youth soccer is a cesspool. Tread carefully and don't breathe in the fumes, hopefully come out the other side relatively unscathed.

Yes. There is fun and growth to be had if you choose wisely and pay attention to your player (and your wallet).

Regarding the last 2 years of this group of girls
Fool me Once, shame on you (Announcement of losing EC NL after tryouts for EC NL were completed and then putting them on DA)

Fool me twice, shame on the families (the writing seemed on the wall for the last 2 to 3 months with all that transpired and hopefully a lot of these girls had already looked at other options)

You are not being fair. Most of the girls on the Albertson DA really were backed into a corner when they were told there was no EC NL team after the tryout season had been completed. Where else were they going at that point? ...they had to give up a year of high school which most of them did not want to do. Riley has really let them down. It’s not the Albertson Soccer Club, it’s Reilly since these are his teams not Albertson Soccer Club.

Yes, but it was out there before tryouts that Alby was losing ECNL. Most parents didn't want to believe it. Given the way things were run and MC leaving now, why would you have stayed anyway?

Would you consider 4-knee surgeries unscathed??

Who is this MC? And where is he now? He seems like a game changer.

It was out there? You mean the rumor mill? The one that is often unfounded and created by opposing clubs to sabotage competitors. It ain’t something until it’s something. Again, don't. blame the parents last year. it was the club not being transparent not announcing until after ecnl tryouts.

The new normal. Just join the club that lies the least. That coaches don’t date the players. That the coaches don’t bang the moms. That doesn’t demand money that is attached to an ultimatum. That doesn’t talk about development with no proof of same.

They were terrible in ECNL so none of this was new news.

What will be the NE division clubs? Is STA is the NE or in mid Atlantic?
