Right. My kid (05 here in the Northeast) will be out of school on 6/7, well ahead of the trip. Nobody else on the team has a conflict, but of course that is different for every school system.

If it goes later, you hit July 4th week, then you start bumping into NPL and Club finals into July. Tight window.

Surprised no conflicts. Most strong 8th grade students have algebra and earth science regents.

Many kids across the US are already out of school or will be soon. NY is the only state that does Regents testing. Should the DA schedule everything around one state? For GDA the only NY teams in playoff contention are U15 NYCFC, U17 Fury and NYCFC U19 Fury. Across all the boys it's a few more teams but not many.

I'm not even from NY and I say yes they should. Just make it later in the year.

That runs in to other issues. Some schools are back mid August. Kids who have been out since late May are well on their way to summer camps and family vacations. Also, most college summer ID events run mid June to early August. Kids getting recruited, which will be many of these players, need to go to those events. Often times they'll get invited after a coach has seen them at nationals.

net net if you run a national league you'll never please everyone and you do the best you can.

We're out June 12th but that's because this was an easy snow year. Many years it's well later than that. Kids down south have been out since 3rd week of May.

ALL NY teams will struggle at the nationals. And I'm from NY. The point is, any team where the girls have worked hard and has qualified for the playoffs, just congratulate them for their success and wish them well. Good luck to all the teams that have qualified...

and? this is pay to play soccer, nothing more, nothing less. No one knows or cares who won last year, and no one will know or care next year, who won this year. just congratulate the players.

Call me crazy but if you design a league with obligatory event for school kids, maybe dont run the obligatory events during school if you want to attract players to participate.

As mentioned...and I do realize for some of you New Yorkers the world doesn't actually revolve around you....there is a different school schedule across the country so it's impossible to schedule everything to accommodate all.
