Daughter is on the NYCFC GDA 00/01 team, and this is our last week with the club, its been up and down, but for us mostly ups...which given the insane club landscape, we consider ourselves lucky to get out alive. It was obvious to many of the parents that once GDA started letting more NPL clubs into the league, that it was finished. That fact has proved-out during these last 20 months. If the starter club was not ECNL, the level of competition was poor. Its 100% as simple as that, and yes there are exceptions, but overall if your foundation is poor, so is your building.

The league is not even two years old .... they started with all NPL teams except for a hanful of ECNL teams that split teams. It was a joke before it started.

what does NY have to do with a National team? who said they have not worked hard?

1. No kid at YNT level deserves repeated call ups until we are say 6 months away from an event. its supposed to be about discovery.

2. If you play in events and do not perform. Take a seat. Lets see some other candidates. There are many kids NATIONALLY who deserve/have earned a chance. Even if it leads to failure

3. There are several kids from this area who excelled in College as freshmen. Why dont they get a chance?

the system is understaffed basis the size of the country. these coaches are stale and need to be replaced. New player need to be given a chance to perform in these games.

Your last statement is so true. DA makes it even easier for USSF scouts to be stretched this/be lazy. Pressure top prospects to be in one league so USSF can do one stop shopping

ECNL teams also lost a lot of girls to the GDA. That's why ECNL is so worried about the GDA. The GDA will improve every year. Like you said, the league is only 2 years old. They probably should have started with 03 and younger teams to start, but that's passed now. Doesn't really matter where you started. It matters where you are going.

GDA is trending down, not up my friend. They've lost top clubs and replaced them with weaker ones. ECNL is holding it's own. GDA won't ever accomplish what it wants without cutting dead weight. The need for GDA was there, the execution in how to go about has been a utter mess. Without dramatic changes the league could fold in another year or two.

What I a picturing is a sloppy mess at the DA. Poor leadership, poor execution, poor decision making and poor recruiting for national Identification. Expensive and too much travel with watered down teams. This may work in other parts of the country but the Northeast is the step child to the DA. They could care less about this region and it shows.

How many more coaching changes can happen at Fury? How can the DA allow this to happen.
Now some kids are acting like the coaches and leaving before season is over. What are you teaching here. (pouty face) I’m not happy so screw everyone else. Good luck with that in the future.
