Not sure I understand what you are saying. Soccer is a team sport. When the clubs make ridiculous exceptions for certain players it kills the team culture. Parents going along with this are equally to blame. GDA has lots of rules so if clubs or parents don't like them, they should not be participating in the league.

Are you a parent that wanted an exception for your player and did not get it? Did you ask and were turned down and others got it? That would be extremely frustrating.

That said, what do you want to happen? Do you want the HS players to quit the DA? Will the team still be able to field? The situation is a mess. I support every family trying to come up with some solution that allows their kid to keep playing the sport somehow if they want too. There are no great options out there for most of these kids but I like to see them still trying to play. Can't think of one single family that is fully satisfied with their soccer options. Current crop of teens have been through the youth soccer ringer.

Absolutely. Most would be better served increasing their study time and hiring a tutor while staying local for league play and training. Even those parents that think they have a stud are just lining trainers pockets for the most part. There are exceptions, but not as many as you would think. Kids can have great experience close to home and get into a better school and earn more merit money through academics. Just saying that folks should open their eyes. Delusion runs rampant. Big world out there. Clubs all lie and why not, you are paying their salary.

The DA, both boys and girls, will be a shell of itself in two years.

It really is that simple. The antagonists in here will complain about the culture of soccer but continue to condone and perpetuate the shady business dealings in youth soccer. There is no win to this. People love to capitalize on loopholes as long as it favors them.

Did GDA have a shell to begin with? BDA sure will be a mess if MLS pulls out.

soccer is a game not a sport....fastest rising real sport for girls in the US right now is womans wrestling...more and more colleges adding these programs with scholarship money every year. In a real sport you earn what you get.

Sound like you should get busy and start up talking wresting - sure you will do great.

Now back to the game of soccer.

Off a non existent base. Big whoop. In fact there were zero women's D1 program's in 2018, and only a few D2. D3 has no scholarships. An astounding 517 women wrestled in college last year, over half in NAIA. There's more female water polo players in college than wrestlers. http://scholarshipstats.com/wrestling.html.

Boys will leave DA and go to BECNL and play HS once MLS teams pull out. Why stay?
