Semantics. Either way, the level of play for the Women's team is falling behind. Once this generation is gone, those developed in the last 10 years won't be able to carry the torch.

Not sure where the next generation was "developed" (and I use that word loosely) but they blew it.

lol. that is because you define success by winning international tournaments. That is not the measure used by the US youth soccer industry. If you judge success by how much money they can extract out of parents wallets, they are absolutely killing it.

In summary.

A lot of people are trying to make a lot of money from youth soccer. Keep your wits about you and help your kid enjoy themselves learning to play this great sport while avoiding some of the abuses. Good luck!!

In fact trying to play 2 games a weekend is detrimental to the players

The reason they do is to
Justify how much they charge

If they only offered 1 game a weekend how could they charge $3k

Um GDA clubs charge that much and more. If you have an early game you may need a hotel stay and driving 400+ miles in a day is draining for players and parents. I'm not saying ECNL is better, both systems are unnecessarily draining on time and $.
