What age? Clinic or Camp? What college? Many factors will determine the answer you get. A week long camp at UNC for a 12 year old is not worth anything other than getting a look at the college. A one day clinic at UPenn with 24 kids attending will get you farther. Coaches can not talk to your child about offers and interest at the camps

In GDA and ECNL, college coaches are showing up on the sidelines of league games starting at U14 & U15 and setting up contact through the coaches. I'd always heard this, but didn't fully believe it until it happened to my kid.

The USSF dont have the resources to scout every kid. When they are young, they call a club coach and he says, that kid is not close to being my best player, the USSF listen. After seeing the players Patino put forward, the USSF decided to ignore his input.

How many NT players has Patino recommended? If any, how many lasted more than one camp ?

His team flopped at ECNL finals. Did not win a game. The kids he was being PAID to promote could no longer get it done. Simple.

To get on their radar and for the player to see if there's a fit. But at UNC (example above) you need to be on their radar early. Stonybrook not so much. That can wait. Coaches can talk to you, just not anything about recruiting until the release date. Not really enforceable of course.
