Saw this on another thread. It's very telling about recent showcase events:
"The biggest reveal about the lack of depth and overall player quality at these events is the stunning number of Head Coach not attending, Of the 100+ D1 schools who indicated they were coming to watch, 80 of these schools did not send their head coach. The schools that did send their head coach were mostly from the lowest tier of the 330 D1 programs.
Every national level Nike, Under Armour & Adidas basketball showcase has the head coach on on site to evaluate as they are the decision maker."
Hmmmmm.

Well duh. Everyone, including the coaches, know these leagues are watered down. It is not exactly a secret.

In the few showcases where GDA and ECNL games actually played real games against each other, ECNL got the the better of it. Facts.
By the way, very few of the people posting about superiority of one league over another will have kids who can make any real impact at t top level school so lets all face it. the ENTIRE SYSTEM is pretty average and arguing over who is better is tallest dwarf in the circus stuff.

Doesn't help if they go 0-40, nor does it help if they go 40-0

You idiots are ridiculous going back and forth about which league is best. I have a kid on the 03 NYCFC team and a kid in ECNL. Both leagues are so diluted that they both are almost unwatchable. Better kids need to make a decision on their leagues to play together. The truth is, a lot of the better Players like to play HS, so for that reason alone, ECNL should be the destination league.
