Ugg. That is a lot. Dial back some of that travel burden and the missing school burden they would attract more players.

Sammy Kroeger is really good, mostly because she has been training with NYCFC since September, as her lousy WC ECNL team was busying pretending to play soccer with their crappy high school teams. Sammy is being home-schooled because she has missed so much of her local HS programming!

My daughter plays for NYCFC 04 and my kid tells me she loves our team, but feels conflicted with her old ECNL coach, she would much rather play with us, she needs to keep her level of training as high as possible, that’s why she trains with us, as her ECNL team is poor in the most basic aspects of soccer

The fact is that our kids mostly end up at East Coast schools so it makes no sense to send 14 and 15 year olds out there year after year. Now with the new recruiting rule where players can not commit until Junior year coming into affect, it makes even less sense. I’m all for a vacation to a warm spot in the middle of fall or winter, but I don’t need to get on a plane for 3 showcases across the country.
