Ugg. That is a lot. Dial back some of that travel burden and the missing school burden they would attract more players.

ECNL has more events on both coasts and you don't go to all, just 2 or 3 depending on the age. ECNL isn't uptight about playing non ECNL events either. Only just this year DA just added the ability to do one non-DA event if the team wants (with USSF approval).

      Phoenix Fall
      South Carolina late fall
      FL - early winter
      TX February
      Phoenix spring
      PDA Memorial Day
      Nationals June

Separate U13/14-only events CA October, South Carolina May

Please. Lets not tun this into another debate about these darn leagues. I just think the gda missed an opportunity to be available to more kids instead less by being so restrictive just by the travel and missed school. is that really necessary or helpful? Seems like it is hurting them.

If the majority of our kids got scholarships to MidWest or West Coast schools, I would say the travel is justified. The fact is that our kids mostly end up at East Coast schools so it makes no sense to send 14 and 15 year olds out there year after year. Now with the new recruiting rule where players can not commit until Junior year coming into affect, it makes even less sense. I’m all for a vacation to a warm spot in the middle of fall or winter, but I don’t need to get on a plane for 3 showcases across the country.

Sammy Kroeger is really good, mostly because she has been training with NYCFC since September, as her lousy WC ECNL team was busying pretending to play soccer with their crappy high school teams. Sammy is being home-schooled because she has missed so much of her local HS programming!

Stop with this league pile on and stop using what works for a unicorn in a debate about talented soccer girls and what would work for them. It has no relevance. Players are not going to be home schooled so they can miss school and go to showcases. That is completely ridiculous especially in the demographic that plays fancy youth soccer.

SK is really good because she has a natural talent that she put the time in to develop each year. She has been playing with her coach for years and has been earning a spot on the YNT for years as well. This has nothing to do with NYCFC. You just sound stupid when you say stuff like that dude.

Jeff and Chris are as stupid as Rex Tillerson, aka a rock, they have not assisted her in any way, she is a good player, and she LOVES training with us, if it wasn’t for her batty mom, she would be on the 02/03 team tomorrow.

My daughter plays for NYCFC 04 and my kid tells me she loves our team, but feels conflicted with her old ECNL coach, she would much rather play with us, she needs to keep her level of training as high as possible, that’s why she trains with us, as her ECNL team is poor in the most basic aspects of soccer

That is where ECNL can find its niche and it's already partly there - a more more regional approach so that teams and coaches aren't hauling all over the country to see each other. As it is Phoenix and TX tend to more midwest and west coast schools and NJ a little more east coast. COaches know "most " players won't fo more than a few hours from home. Of course the events should be open to any teams or coaches who want to attend but it's good for clubs to be be able to choose which make sense for their players

Don't use kids name on this site. You put a target on their backs for critisicism (and it will happen) and their name can come up on a search engine. Initials only, f you're stupid enough to do it. Dont fish for compliments unless you're prepared for bile as well

Each player has different goals as well as different options for training based on location and local clubs. Having choices is good for the players but too many choices have watered down soccer too much

I’m confused by your post. Your daughter plays for NYCFC but she wants to play with her old ECNL coach but she wants to train with US? You sound way too involved in your daughters life if you aren’t referring to her team as us and our.

You don’t know anything about the kid or her family. She is going to a school close to home because she is very connected with her parents. She is also close to her ECNL coach. Just because you can’t get a spot on that team for your own kid, you are bitter

If your daughter is on the 04 NYCFC team, you should know that her old coach was replaced so I’m not sure how she is conflicted -troll
