They cant schedule the NY gda games for later in the showcase? It is not rocket science. Just look at a calendar. or write off NY kids whose parents have the audacity to make them take the required regents exams that week. oh well.

DA has a rest rule that applies even for showcases. You'd think it wouldn't be that big a deal but like the other said, USSF just doesn't care + it's only one state to them.

I hope they follow through with that. After their B-team gets embarrassed in a few tournaments, maybe US Soccer will finally come to their senses and clean house. Seems like the only way we're going to get effective oversight over US Soccer.

They don’t need to completely exclude ecnl or npl kids but by making it obvious that da kids are preferred for NTs they will get more aspirants to choose da teams. Ussf will leverage whatever they have to to push their brand fwd. it may take a while though.

Not every DA coach has the same style of coaching, so what is the difference if one kid plays DA and another, who is just as strong plays in another league? Look at the kid from SSS. She has never been on a DA team, but there she is with the kids who have playing 2 years in DA. Obviously what she is doing is working, so why force her to change? These players who are National level players are just at a different level than other kids. If playing HS or playing on a NPL team isn’t affecting her play, why force her to play where she will be unhappy. When the game stops being fun, it affects play

Last year, YNT kids played GDA. This year, those that didn't graduate mostly left. Horrible system this is.

Not true.. There are others who didn't do DA. Not many but enough. And the thing is if a NT player's local GDA option isnt a good one why should they be pressured to move? There are GDA clubs that aren't good or just might not be good for an individual player, even for just location even.

This is not a big issue for the NE region. This region is about college.

They CANT. If they do, it will cost them their jobs and everything else.

The combined tryouts are tomorrow for the NYCFC/WCFC ecnl girls. Thankfully my daughter will go out with fond memories, and great times as a player with NYCFC GDA, we don’t have to worry about any more club soccer, it’s on to the big-girl league.

Do you have any idea how much of a loser you look like writing something like that? I feel for you that your life is that small. Your daughter will live 60-70 years after she is done playing soccer. That’s actually the “big girl/boy league.

Well said. I understand the other poster's frustration though the way youth soccer has been screwed up these past few years (age year changes; league changes; league feuds). I hope the sport survives it. Btw - being in the big girl/big boy league doesn't mean PLAYING in the big girl/big boy league.

Hahahaha. All 10 teams that they will have left? Okay.

Good luck to you and your daughter, but let’s be honest, if your daughter is graduating this year, she came from WCFC to begin with so you should know that the rest of the girls are in good hands in ECNL. ECNL is where she played 2 years ago, and that was good enough then. Things have not changed. Other than 1 player, all players graduating out were from World Class

FYI, the only player who was not on WC 2years ago, was also on an ECNL team before going GDA
