Why is it that D2 soccer schools are not household names? I am always hearing about D1 and D3 schools, but D2 schools seem to be almost invisible.

then there's the bragging rights - more soccer families are middle to upper income, live in nicer towns, better school districts etc. Many would rather their kid be at a prestigious name school (D1 or D3) even without soccer than at most D2s.

Don't get me wrong - one of mine had a great experience at a D2 school but they had learning issues and struggled some in school. That was the right place for them. D2 obviously is for thousands of others. But there's reasons no one talks about it

I've seen rosters of 40 plus players on D2 rosters with miserable results. D2 is just an enigma .
