If you think your kid is getting on a college team from their high school team and a town team…you are delusional.
…and the ecnl/rl teams getting first high school spots is true. Rockville center has been making a stink about this for years, because the team has less and less RVC town team players.
You may have an athlete but at high school level the academy kids are going to be WAY better.
…soon the mls and international academies will rule over ecnl.
They are not their yet, but it is coming.

Very true. It’s every hs on LI and beyond.
Pretty simple to understand. The academy kids will have 2-3 practices per week, most times 2 if not3-4 games per week. (Tournaments and seasonal overlaps typically the 3-4 games/week).
Just that alone will account for a minimum of 4-5hours per week in team play/training compared to 1-2 hours/week with town team.
now if you account for the extremely dedicated academy kids who are training in their own time 1-2hours per day, you are talking on average 12-18 hours per week of touching the ball.

it would only make sense that the same kids would be the clear superior athletes on said hs teams.
man’s considering the meteoric rise in both boy/girl academy soccer on Long Island one would only expect this gap to widen.

Doesn't Massapequa do that. They even go to EDP don't they? They have had some good competitive teams and kids that have gone to colleges through them. And for a lot less money

If I’m not mistaken. There is 1 massapequa Girls team on an edp schedule. It’s the 14s. Playing in premier 1. So middle division with many teams playing up in the division. So younger teams. And the only nl/rl club in the division I’d SUSa with their Carolina team. Who is their b or c team for that age.

Parents at Susa think that they are the best, and that ECNL is the best, strictly because they have to justify to themselves paying over 4k a year. And that they have to be getting the best. In fact they are not. Ecnl especially on the boys side is not a strong league. Many parents complain about the travel and that maybe 4 out of the 9 teams are competitive and the rest suck. There are many other more competitive options for less money oit there

You are all delusional. This conversation is not indicative of the current D1 landscape. MLS next, ecnl, and everything in between. The majority of D1 players are foreign born, and the percentage increases every year. It’s been that way for the past 20 years. With the current political climate and insanity that’s currently sweeping our country it wouldn’t surprise me that in the next 20 years that biological males take over womens every sport in d1 and you’ll have no one to blame but yourself.

There are 56 High School soccer teams in Nassau county, with an average of 19 Players per team. That's 1064 varsity players alone, and you say ENCL/RCNL players are the only ones that receive playing time? That is one hell of a Kool-Aid you are drinking there.
                        Its true at St. Anthony's

So if you are at the top of your conference, they tend to match you with other top teams in their respective conferences. If you are at the bottom of your conference, then expect to be matched up against other teams with below average wins. The point is to have fairly even games and avoid major blow outs. Now, playing time in showcases is always up for debate, and some teams play to win still and others give adequate time for everyone there who is still actively recruiting.

But coaches are looking at far more than 8-12 players at any given showcase, especially earlier in the cycle. They are dealing with a pool of hundreds initially and then whittle that down. Even the final short list has to be bigger, as it's a game of musical chairs and the same top players are potentially being sought after by multiple schools but only can choose one in the end.
Typically players are not being "discovered" at a showcase. Coaches are there to see players who have already reached out to them and have sent enough film to warrant a live look.
