club costs to join are same, regional play schedule seems to be same, even some of the national teams overlap - so why are they 2 separate leagues ? difference? also what is the diff between EDP Academy teams and GA ? Just separation by league?

Typically a club puts THEIR A players in GA and B players in DPL. Colleges view DPL as third or fourth tier

On Long Island I know of no league called DPL. Only LISC has their firs team in the GA, their second team plays in the USYS National confernece/EDP.
