Marist parent getting revenge for not playing daughter. I guess the players end of season meeting with the coach did not go well. Parent who still has a club mentality and not understanding the difference with college soccer. Clearly, the parent has never grown up and wants revenge.

It is in violation for the NCAA rules to coach PSA that lives outside the 50 mile radius of your institution. The school has been notified and we will see if people care or don't care about rules

Here's the Bylaw...it's open to interpretation for a reason, lol. Nothing will happen to Marist or coach, because it shouldn't. OP is disgruntled parent whose kid isn't one of the 35 players rostered, getting PT.

13.11.2.4 Local Sports Clubs - Sports Other than Basketball. In sports other than basketball, an institution's coach may be involved in any capacity (e.g., as a participant, administrator or in instructional or coaching activities) in the same sport for a local sports club or organization located in the institution's home community, provided all prospective student-athletes participating in said activities are legal residents of the area (within a 50-mile radius of the institution). I thought the Marist Coach was associated with Quickstrike FC, which is easily inside 50 miles of Marist? How does this bylaw apply?

when you notified the school what was their response to you? Did you contact the AD directly or the Colleges administration? As you have been reading for 10 pages people are more interested in your reasons for taking this course of action. When it comes to rules why does this rule upset you? Why does this 50 mile radius cause you to take drastic action? What has this coach done directly to you? What action do you want to occur?

The poster likely never did it, just acts all tough behind a keyboard. It's more fantasy to right some imagined wrong the coach has done his kid. He can't accept that maybe the program isn't a good fit for his D and she might be happier on another team or stopping soccer altogether. But the latter would be too big a blow to his sense of self.

If he did do it, first think of the depravity to see where players played club and how far away they lived. Mental.

So someone is saying that there is a player at Marist who played at Quickstrike who lived more than 50 miles from Marist. I can't imagine that Quickstrike would be such a draw as to have a player decide to make that commute for practices 3x per week. Is it really true?

The only reason Marist is being talked about is a disgruntled parent. With all due respect to Marist they are not a soccer program mentioned much by people. This unrealistic parent made it a subject. Just a club parent mentality who is in denial about their daughters soccer abilities. Probably has never inquired about her grades or future after college.
