Plenty of LI players get big money freshman year at low level schools and never see the field. Coaches sold mediocre players to bad programs and that is why those programs can't recover. Just look at the NEC, MAAC, America East, A-10 and Patriot League. The bottom feeders stay at the bottom because they chase big club players that don't pan out. Find top players from the mid clubs and schools would be in better shape.

Yes, totally agree. The solution is build a roster with 80% Quickstrike players. What could go wrong?

It is in violation for the NCAA rules to coach PSA that lives outside the 50 mile radius of your institution. The school has been notified and we will see if people care or don't care about rules

Marist rotates coaches for the women every 4 years or so. It keeps the blame on the outgoing coach and the parents feel some sense of satisfaction when the coach leaves. It’s weird but it’s what they do.

So when you notified the NCAA did you do so anonymously as a concerned Marist parent whose daughter is not playing or with your real name?

This Marist parent has to be delusional to think that the NCAA is going prioritize this Marist parents complaint. Seriously, with all due respect do you believe this alleged violation warrants any action for this program?

What does PSA have to do with this?

Let’s be very honest, it’s not an alleged violation, it’s an actual violation. Is the rule completely and utterly stupid, yes. Was this raised by a difficult Marist parent, yes. Will Marist with a massive COVID hill to climb all winter and spring probably look the other way, probably.

There are plenty of college coaches in the Northeast that have pivoted away from club or take younger teams because of this rule so it’s real.

It just proves the point of how some parents can’t let go of their club parent mentality. To seek revenge on a Coach because in their twisted mind they did this parents daughter wrong. How far down the rabbit hole head first are these people? What you refer to as an actual violation means you are aware of this as a Marist parent as well. With all due respect to the program how has this infraction give an unfair advantage/benefit to Marist that the school administration and NCAA should take action.

First things first. The only people that care about Marist soccer are coaches, administrators, players, parents and maybe some alumni. Could the whistleblower be parent, I suppose. Could also be a recruit not offered a spot, a coach overlooked for the job or even a player. We’ll never know.

bottom line is that regardless of the level the only way to avoid the noise. Coaches don’t get to select which NCAA rules they abide by and which they don’t. There are plenty of dumb rules.

play stupid games and you win stupid prizes

It is illegal and Marist is breaking the rules. No way around it. If Marist decides to not worry about it shame on them.

If you're not at the school or offending club, why do you care? Petty vindictiveness, whatever the reason, isn't a good look.

i guess if there was any wrong doing...the ncaa will handle it as they normally do.

since, we have not heard of the ncaa imposing any sanctions on marist in any way, sounds like you are full of sh-t. a vindictive @ssclown with nothing else better to do than to stir up sh-t because your princess carli lloyd wannabe got benched.
