In the game of life my experience has been not to be judgmental when it comes to a persons “station in life”. What does that mean “three steps behind” coming from a anonymous TS parent. Are you as judgmental at your kids soccer matches?

Oh for sure he thinks his kid is heads above all the rest on the team and critiques them all the time. He probably thinks immigrants and first gen kids should speak flawless English, not knowing English is one of the most challenging languages to learn for non natives. Look at how many Americans screw it up and not all are unintelligent.

I've heard a few people have contacted Marist regarding their coaches coaching players that live outside of 50 miles from Poughkeepsie. Let's see what the school thinks about this. Any high school players that play for JK or BK on their Quickstrike teams are illegal by NCAA rules. I'm sure compliance will be coming down on them shortly after the holiday break if they have not done so already

So the club itself isn’t more than 50 miles from Marist. They may have to shuffle players to be compliant. Probably not a huge issue.

Every college coach that’s in the club business deals with this. If the club is near the school, typically no big deal. Gets dicey when the coach has a big commute to either school or club.

schools won’t take the risk of non compliance with NCAA

If a school's AD is even paying attention. Many barely give the soccer teams any mind let alone what the coaches do off campus.

I totally agree. At many of these schools, the soccer teams have the same significance as the cross country teams.

                  The rule is stupid anyway

The only time anyone pays close attention is for high visibility basketball and football players. Programs going after those future pro athletes have all eyes on them, someone hoping they screw-up so they can get the athlete. No one is scrutinizing mid to low-level women's soccer programs. I've seen several instances where there werr violations and no one said Boo about it.

No doubt this is a discontent Marist parent whose kids meeting did not go well with the coach at the end of the season. To anonymously state that “I’ve heard a few people”, why would a few people care? How exactly does that effect the team? What does this malcontent parent want Marist to do? Then they are sure action will be taken by the school because in this parents professional opinion they broke serious NCAA rules. This is an example of a delusional parent far down the rabbit hole head first. They think they are still involved with club soccer and have a club soccer mentality.

Ha ha you're probably right. They don't understand why their precious Emma didn't see the field this season.

typical behavior of a LI soccer parent.

There's bad soccer parents everywhere. Bad parents everywhere too. Talk with people who work at universities and they all have snowplow parent horror stories. My parents didn't even know what classes I was taking, let alone constantly tracking all my grades. They only met the coach a few times at social events and would never have called them for anything.

I never spoke to my daughter's high school coach until the end of the year banquet senior year. I can't imagine talking to a college coach or AD. What does that teach your kid? They'll be in the workforce in a few years, would parents call a boss to discuss the merits of a raise?

Long Island parents take the cake. That I agree with 100%.

Yes some parents have done that, crazy as it sounds. Happy to give my kids advice, if they ask, but expect them to try and figure it out on their own first. Not teaching them to self advocate with a coach or teacher is doing them a disservice.
