If they have no stats they won't show up on the stats page. In other words, they didn't play one minute in a game all year. When there's 35 on a roster that's likely to happen.

If you look at minutes played. games started it's pretty clear who the top 15 players are. Most of the rest who got any time at all wouldn't reakky be called meaningful. Many never touched the field except as a practice cone

That is how most college rosters are

Another parent with a club mentality. Your daughters are attending college to get an education and move on with there lives. The people are paying for a college education. You are too stupid to understand the difference. These parents are funding their education not the soccer program. We call people like you a dolt.

Some of the “full pay” graduates will earn more than you within 24 months of graduation. How’s that for being a sucker.

The kids are there for the college experience and for many four more years of soccer and being part of program is part of the experience. The school lacks scholarship money for soccer and typically ranks around 300 in the RPI. I think it’s safe to say that for most players soccer is secondary is to getting an education and starting a career.

How can 10 full pay players pay for a program? Have you seen the Marist tuition costs?

Not the poster....almost all other players are paying something. Full rides are nearly nonexistent. Athletic departments at many schools run in the red, so do most individual sports. Even more so at a school like Marist that doesn't have big football or basketball TV money. Schools justify it 1) a way to attract a diverse and active student body 2) create campus community 3) keep alumni dollars rolling in. Some schools have been reevaluating this long accepted philosophy and cut a few Athletic teams. But as long as a school has a football team there will always been a women's soccer team because it's an easy way to help with Title 9.

Anyone who makes a comment that players on non-scholarship support a college program has no clue or understanding abut college athletics. That person has a club mentality. A program like Marist is run through the athletic budget and there is no direct link with a student. The above post is correct about Marist. Title IX is a life saver for women’s sports.

Since many players won't be getting any $ some coaches tell them "if you get in you have a spot" - which is entirely different from being a scholarshiped, coach supported athlete. It really doesn't cost a program much to have scrubs. Coaching costs are fixed regardless of the number of players and scrubs don't travel to games.

How are they able to coach high school players that live more that 50 miles from Marist ? Is that able to happen ? Quickstrike might be in trouble or Marist will get in trouble

I don't know specifics at Marist but at many schools donors can contribute directly to the athletic department and even teams specifically. Smart schools don't allow it while the related student athlete is on the team. Doubtful this happens at a school like Marist but at a top academic or Ivy? Varsity Blues exposed just how low rich parents will go to get their kids into a top school

oh and schools are more than happy to accept nonscholarshipped athletes and their (often) full pay tuition. It may not go directly to the bottom line of the department or team, but it's still favorable to the school as a whole. Larger than necessary rosters are a leading indicator of that, on soccer or other teams. Mid-level schools like Marist are all battling it out for students and income

It’s possible they got hurt in their first game.

plus coaches tend to red shirt the players they think have longer term potential. the cold hard reality is loads of freshman will get little to no pt. it doesn't mean they don't stand a chance continuing, but it's not a good sign. there's a reason so many have dropped out or transferred before junior year
