BK was hired to lead the program. She needs to step up and coach. Not let her husband coach or watch her kids during training. No way this situation lasts in it’s current form. Husband either steps away from the program and focuses on club soccer or they are both done. No collegiate athletic program is going to tolerate this situation.
        Husband is a CREEP.

If the AD is smart they will back this coach 100%. They have already been down this road with parents and the result has been these parents now think they have “a say” with this program. Either these players get with the program or leave. These players will have little or no alternative choices at another college. Coaches will have no interest in picking up problem players with problem parents.

She told her new school that she left Marist because she was pregnant so if you have any more info it would be appreciated!

Either the complaint about the husband is valid or it isn't. No AD should fully support a coach who is passing off responsibility to their assistants, let alone a spouse. It should at least be investigated.

Parents can complain to an AD but it generally wont' get far. If they players don't like it they're the ones that need to initiate it.

The school shouldn't even allow the spouses working together.

Seems you know the answer. And why do you care? And why do you think you'll get valid info on this site?

Could I make the suggestion that this board isn't the place to resolve any of these issues. In the case of the former coach, you are talking about someone's employment. Schools do background checks. end of story.

With regard to the Marist coaching, they are having a decent year. With that big of roster and the NCAA giving another year to players, this is a countrywide issue. Lots of players that would otherwise see some time are now a year away. For Marist, it's like they have two full freshman classes. If Juniors aren't playing nowt hen they probably won't. There just aren't enough opportunities to get that many kids into games. if two players are equal and impact the game in roughly the same way, you take your chances with the one that has college playing experience.

I've seen other college husband and wife coaching scenarios. D2 St Rose comes to mind. It's a very strange scenario for Division 1 program though. I'm sure that it's fun for them but probably what the school thought they were getting.

no I don't know the answer which is why I asked. a friend of a friend was discussing there kid's college experience and it seemed like you all know so much about what is going on at Marist and you might have some insight. you can often find some truth in the posts here if you can wade through the crap.

Lots of problem parents with kids that just can't play. Some with decent resumes aren't very good

You have a decent resume and make less than I pay in taxes. I understand the frustration. Some people just suck

Parents are only a problem if the AD gives them a platform. This AD hired the coach and should have her back. If the student is not happy on the team then they can try to transfer. Most know the chances of that happening is very slim. At the end of the season when the coach has one to one meeting with each player I would think he coach will let those payers who are not happy with her coaching style that they could leave.

Husband is not on the roster on the Marist website. No way he is coaching if he's not on the roster. Neither will be able to coach the Quickstrike teams with players outside of 50 miles of Marist. The team made the MAAC tournament and beat #1 seed Monmouth last week.

Every school (well almost all) livestream games and then have them available for replay. I've never watched a Marist game but presumably if the guy is coaching he's on every live feed on the sidelines in the Marist gear. I don't think you need a private investigator here. I don't know much about the rules of college coaches with club roles, I would understand that coaching kids of recruting age is probably a violation but I can think of plenty of clubs with college coaches on staff including many in the MAAC. Probably no smoke here. College compliance departments are typically all over this.

The school AD should “shut down” any parents who get involved with this team or the coach. This is college D1 Soccer not club soccer. These young ladies are old enough to deal directly with the coaching staff with any complaints/concerns they may have. Normally, when the season ends the coaches have individual meetings with each player. Any issues should be brought up at that time. If they cannot be solved to a players satisfaction then there is the transfer portal. The AD picked this coach and the coach may have inherited most of these players but it’s her team. That’s the resolution for any problems that a parent/player might have.
