Is your daughter new to STA or was on the DA previously? I guess they are doubling down on the DA philosophy even if it’s no longer required. But if other teams don’t follow this, who would you play in the fall?

STA HS Policy

• STA does not advocate HS play
• STA will always take priority
• HS Coach has to agree to let STA dictate availability
• Full time players take precedence over HS players for games – if any STA event is missed that week
• Players may not play HS and GA games within 24 hrs
• No HS player can train more than 4 times per week (2 minimum with STA)
• STA events take priority when mandated
• Any player not training with STA cannot train with HS unless permitted by club
• Any injured player must not train with HS
• STA requires 48hrs notice for changes to HS schedules
• HS players must attend double header games away
• No HS player can miss Regional/National Showcase events

Hearing the whole league is adopting in order to have a consistent application across the board.

Let me be clear...there will be no other clubs or teams from NJ getting into ECNL ever. You are welcome to join RL and that will be the pathway for your club.

Will see more of an impact with the new clubs at the younger age groups. Solid team from that club will move up into ECNL. Just letting you understand the talking points being discussed.

This is a plan that is trying to look ahead for it to work long term. Not something just created to save a club forming GAL.

Those conversations will be a disaster with HS coaches. Parents didn’t look to leave STA based on something else that was sold when forming GAL. We are looking for options now. We were staying because HS rule was suppose to be open. Not this crap!

You’re not making any sense. If you were ALREADY at STA, then there is no change from the DA so what are you complaining about? If it was good enough for you in fall 2019, why are you so eager to have your kid play HS in fall 2020?

Looks like there is no faith in the GAL league, so now they want to make sure they have HS option. STA must have some sales pitch.

We are at a GA club but still won’t be HS age unless my D can play as 8th grader (and would she want to). The issue with this policy is that they still have to attract new players and retain the ones they have. If the DOCs can’t see the issue this will create then they have gone full retard here. Players are going to leave for ecnl and GA clubs have to at the least attract enough to offset losses. This will impede that. They should just adopt a 6-7 month season and offer programs to bridge the gap if your HS program isn’t an option. So stupid.

Yes other former DAs are also adopting this but they are not publicizing so they can grab your business for 10 mos first.

"there is no change from the DA" is quite possibly the funniest thing I've ever read on TS. GAL is a second rate copy cat of a league that had full USSF support and STILL failed. Top clubs and top players have fled to ECNL and the leftovers will be in GAL. But yeah, it's just like DA, LOL
