I usually say go with an A team because B teams (which is what ECRL is at WC and tehyre like the D team at PDA) are always an afterthought.

I would think STA will be very motivated to make sure that they treat the 07 team well. For this GA league, 05 and younger are going to be priorities (just my opinion) as they try to grow and improve the league.

That said, WC is a great club, just be sure that going as a RL player doesnt mean youre locked for life. Most (not all) clubs do not promote B to A all that often.

Anonymous forum where parents and coaches have axes to grind and trash other teams coaches and players isn’t the place to go

Agree, so what do you suggest? Unless you have good friends you can trust to ask, I can’t think of anywhere to get honest info. Where would you go? Sick of people tossing out “do your research”. Research is only as good as the data that is input.

G with your gut. Which coach did you like better? Where will your daughter be pushed? Which club has a better pathway for your daughter to grow? Which fits your family?

Let’s get this straight.....ECNL is a league based on an entire club. It’s about club performance. Under no circumstances would ECNL ever consider bringing in a specific team (outside or inside ECNL) from any age group. There is 0 chance of that occurring. The ECNL RL is a result of ECNL wanting to make extra money so as to not lose players. It’s there biggest moneymaker because they get to retain an additional 25 players at every age group as the “B’ team for players not good enough for the premier team. So players in this RL will play the “B” teams in Regional league as well as showcase tournaments with no matches vs. the premier team. The only difference at training they will be able to train alongside the premier teams and possibly scrimmage. This will allow the coaches to observe this “B’ team players with possible promotion to the premier team. That’s it! There will be no entire team in the RL or outside ECNL becoming part of ECNL. Regional League is about additional revenue nothing more. All you people who are hoping that ECNL will open the doors better come up with a plan B! Another selling point is the ECNL get to sell more gear. Gives those Regional parents a chance to wear the club gear which doesn’t have the RL connected to the name.

They lost half the 05s. Not a good start.

Yes the revamped 05 team will be a former shadow of itself. Which will only lead to weaker competition in an already overhyped GAL league.

I would never pay money to have my daughter play for a B team for one of these “elite” clubs. Must be on top team or a huge waste of money. No matter who says there is promise it is all bs. Lol. Never rl is right.

Yes shocking how some people are paying top $$$ to play for a D or E team (Shore Branch) at the likes of PDA. But everyone is different some people are about the letters on the chest and nothing else. Basically living through their kids....

I would never even let my Mia play on PDA White or South. Not worth it to me if not top team. But that’s just me. I hate to waste money.

Go with what fits you best. Some of these clubs are bait and switch . If your daughter feels comfortable with certain players , club and coach go with that. She is the one who will have to spend the most time with them . Most the parents on here have no athletic ability and live through their kids.
I agree 100%..what is good for one player is a bad fit for another..Most on here have no real idea about actual development and go by wins and rankings.

My D has played at most levels up to ECNL and honestly some of the "better" ECNL teams were just bigger stronger girls and not better soccer players but did win games by being more physical and direct.

Some ECNRL teams are good and a few are pretty poor....so go with a coach who will actually teach her the game (not just how to win the game) and with girls she likes because in the end very few are going onto to a major D1 program. Also factor in how long your drive will be at rush hour to get her to practice - in North Jersey it can be a nightmare trying to get to a 5 or 6pm session...
                              .
My spouse & I both played D1 and have even discussed turning down a soccer scholarship as it can become like a job at a big program. Would rather she her enjoy playing..the costs of all youth sports is truly out of control! Playing at these clubs from a younger age and you will spend 2-3 year college tuition...

Way too many crazy parents filming every practice & game...let the girls be girls and have fun along the way...too much pressure being put on ...you can't teach speed or hand eye coordination ….unfortunately to be a very high level of any sport sometimes takes being born with natural abilities …working hard can only improve you so much....

One of the best summaries I’ve seen in one of these forums, even keeled, honest and on point. Thank you.
