I think ECNL and GA will ultimately become one league after the clubs all merge together to stay afloat. Could be a realy good thing, actually. Take ECNL/GA/NPL/ECRL and create a two tiered system, all run by the officials (ECNL) that seem to best understand the customers.

ECNL seem to be run bu savvy people who turned around their situation pretty quickly. They were the clear #2 league during the launch season of GDA but by year 2 they'd pulled even and then went ahead. It helps to have the backing of super powerful clubs like PDA running the show but they knew it and used that card pretty well. Let them absorb all of these clubs under their umbrella and then decide who plays at what tier. Pro/Rel but within their umbrella would make sense.

Let’s see what they do with the 06 group which was also all talent recruited in to STA. The only talented STA girls coach works with the goalies. They need more like him.

There will only be so much space for those kids though, so it will be interesting to see how it works out. PDA and MF will have the pick of the litter for this year.

I don't view PDA North white, PDA South, or MF as "top teams", but I think a lot of players from former DA teams in NJ will be looking to join those clubs.

You also have to worry in the future that any of those three clubs could get an invite to ECNL down the road. If they get that opportunity for ECNL/ECNLR you can kiss away any loyalties they have to the GAL clubs. Gone in a second. Should be a big concern.

Originally posted by Unregistered View PostGAL will be the second tiered league. For the Northeast GAL it just all depends on what happens with NEFC, South Shore and Oakwood. All good clubs that could compete with many ECNL clubs at different age groups. STA already lost some really good talent to other teams. If the same happens to those three teams it will be really bad for the GAL Northeast league. 95% of best DA teams across the country either left for ECNL or disbanded. Really only 3 major clubs left with GAL. Not good for showcases and college recruiting budgets to focus on GAL as a top priority like DA. Definitely will take a hit.
