By the time the girls are actually playing, fights over ecnl vs ga vs edp vs npl will seem meaningless. This may be the event that forces the change everyone’s been expecting or hoping for over the past 3-4 years.

Clubs that need to pay real estate bills or have debts they’ve taken on will be screwed . Many of these will be top tier league clubs and if they fold there will be a lot of holes in league conferences.

They know a bunch of clubs are dead and they are taking in extra teams to pad numbers until they see who dies. You’re not far off...lots of academy clubs (aka small businesses) will go under, obviously the poorly run ones being most at risk.

I honesty don’t see how most of these clubs can survive if there is no soccer in the fall, especially the ones with full time coaches.

The reality is 1/2 prob won’t survive. You’re safer now on a township team like things were 10-15 years ago. Pretty sad it’s almost come to that.

Reality is there are too many clubs in NJ anyway. This state needs consolidation in soccer. Might be a good thing if some go away and the talent can combine.

Maybe in Northern NJ, in southern NJ we really don't have much of choice unless you want to drive an hour to hour in a half.

STA — plays joke league
Ironbound
Cedar Stars — desperately hoping to play mls league
PDA — desperately hoping to play mls league league

Too bad these teams don’t play each other, that would have been a pretty competitive division

We’ll definitely get past this and I can’t wait for that to happen but I know for a fact a lot of parents will not be making any further payments after initial deposit until there is a return to play date. That’s why clubs will crumble.

Cedar Stars not playing MLS they already announced they are playing in same league as the girls. Give it a rest already with the MLS thing.

There sure are but you really have to do your research to find them. Worth it if you have the trust and patience to find one as they vary age by age club by club.

Is the GAL league really happening? My brother’s daughter plays for FC Virginia and he says they have not shared any information about league next year. It is rumored that FC Virginia will be taking the 14th spot in ECNL’s mid Atlantic division. Our family is growing very concerned about the validity of GAL
