Has anyone received an invitation to join STA without a tryout? My daughter's friend just joined the club, and her parents are trying to get others from her friend group to come over with them to help with the drive. Is this how most GAL teams are being formed?

STA has 4 teams at 2008 age group. I would guess they would take more or less anyone that applied. But the poster did not say that the new girls are going to be on the GAL team. I would think if the club offers a position on any of the teams, if it works for the family in question, and STA delivers on its promise, that is great for all concerned. There is no reason to make playing club soccer a highly selective experience.

Yes they are expecting to lose a few players at 08, 07 and 05 that SC brought over to do at this point offers are made as teams need to be filled.

Where have you been? A lot of so called "elite" youth soccer has been more or less walk on for a few years. If you cant make the top team at one club, just go to a different club. This is rampant.

DA was $1900. Non-DA $2900. If you're in HS, you get less training for more money. So yeah "adjusted" to screw you hard.

If she is good. And played against sta it’s not hard to identity talent and ability. So this doesn’t seem odd to me that they would reach out to you and gauge your interest ..

How is that any different than what MF does? Besides, if I my daughter is invited to play in the GAL league, even if she has 2 left feet, you better believe, she will be on the field with 2 left footed Superflies on during the GAL games. I'm sure she won't be the only one wearing those shoes out there if this is how they take players

Already happened. Only safe teams at STA are 06 and 03. They will backfill from the USYS teams.
