If he was planning to start his own thing he would have never brought his teams there. Common sense.

Tim was afraid he’d lose his job once another coach got his a license. Sc was about to have 2 da teams next year and 3 the year after.

Tim was running scared and only had leverage for a short time.

Everyone knows he’s not That good of a coach. He’s a parent but kisser.

Csa had plenty of coaches at their showcase games. Guess the people who are bad mouthing them know more than the D1 coaches

Again if the league is 2nd rate why are there hundreds( yes hundreds) of D1 college coaches at every major event?

In fact there are better coaches coming to penn fusion showcase than attended Disney this past weekend.

Pda May be the best club in nj but if you put them up against the best in da they aren’t . Which is one of the reasons they left da. They were act at best in da.

It’s very simple. The teams in the league are very weak. NEFC and Shore are good clubs. The rest are terrible. STA 05 are a good team but only conceded three goals all season. They are not that good. What sort of elite league sees you win each game and have a goal differential of plus 43. College coaches are going to do due diligence and there are areas of the country where the DA is better than the ECNL but in this stage and region it’s very poor. It’s very simple. All the best clubs, minus Shore and NEFC, are in the ECNL in this region.

STA DA squads are vastly superior to CSA, TV and SC were big contributors to that success. Why would SC take a step down and go to CSA???? No way that would occur unless he was able to bring his squad and manage it the way he sees fit.

The complete answer to what got him canned will never be fully known. He will have his explanation about it not being a good fit, etc. and his followers will believe/agree. STA will stay quiet about it.

However you can bet it wasn't a single incident, but an accumulation of issues building (likely on and off the field) and then something happened as the last straw.

The SC defender doesn't want to hear it but USSF was the reason. No matter how good SC is at getting results from kids his behavior is unacceptable. Newman knows how his boy is and will not sacrifice his DA program for SC.

Definitely not a Tim hire. This was Newman seeing SC bringing teams with him to bolster their first year in the DA. Now it’s backfired as three age groups will be fractured and they will be scrambling to cover coaching. The coaches at STA were never going to accept SCs style and directive because they are comfortable. In the end something went down or Tim won and Newman had to backtrack. Either way not good for STA.

Oh I hit a nerve. Has Little Princess been sold a load of BS so she can travel 4-6 hours for one game. You only just played this team a few weeks ago because there are only 6 teams in our league. Why are we playing the same team again Daddy? I don’t know but it’s the DA so it’s the best. But Daddy all my friends play HS and love it. Little Princess it’s more important that you beat CSA Bergen 10-0 again so the coaches can tell you how amazing you are. But Daddy when will we play a meaningful game? Maybe in the one showcase we go to Little Princess. Thanks Daddy

US soccer took a chance at making their league "the best", as it is on the boys side. They forgot one important fact. The boys side has the MLS clubs making their academy's free. The girls side has a handful, at best, offer low cost options. US Soccer went head to head with a league that offers the same thing they offer, with perhaps the added option for girls to play HS soccer, which we all know, is attractive to many. If you asked STA if they would have preferred to join GDA or ECNL, the honest answer would have been ECNL. Tim has asked many other DOC's at other ECNL clubs to go to bat for his club to join ECNL. STA settled for second best on the East Coast.

As for Penn Fusion having more coaches coming to their event, don't forget that ECNL, ECRL and NL clubs will be attending that event. I don't think you can say they are attending because it is a DA event.

Sounds like the same exact story for WC and PDA in ECNL. Both leagues very watered down.

I agree to most of what is said here. With the exception of STA's choice of DA. It was their only choice for a higher league. ECNL won't let them in. Now we can argue about why STA should be in ECNL instead of that mess of a club Match Fit but thats a whole other debate

My daughter has been on both ECNL and DA. Just depends on what you want. Both leagues have a ton of very bad teams. West Coast DA stronger then ECNL West and East Coast DA has more really bad teams then ECNL East. (not by much though) Both leagues have a ton of very bad clubs.

Showcases are hands down better at DA. She has been to both. More exposure at DA. Especially in fall.

ECNL gets HS but that can be good or bad depending on what you want. Want experience and fun playing HS. Great! Want development during same time frame it's not even close to 4 practices and the competition of fall DA provides the kids.

Cost for what you get goes to DA yearly. More ECNL 18 plus player teams as well. They need that cash for half seasons to pay yearly salaries. ECNL SUB rule better to develop lower level girls but be careful of those hockey line changes.

If both leagues really cared about the kids they would find away to have the top three teams regionally from both leagues play each other every Spring/Summer and advance in some type of CUP format.
