That’s what it’s all about. I love being an idiot knowing that there are people who get 2x as much value for 1/4 of the money. #idiotPathway

These are 12 and 13 year old kids fool. It's not about winning. At least to the parents. Its about the development and going through this process. Nevermind the score, only worry about if YOUR child is getting better and if she was on that field yesterday guess what. She got better. Now stop being an idiot on the forum and relax.

There are very few top class womens college soccer teams. For all that money spent and all those proven pathways, amazing young women etc...

I’ll jump in.
What “development” are you all looking for? What is the end game?
Thousands of dollars of parents money being spent on what exactly?
Who REALLY benefits from all the NATIONAL travel? Maybe a handful that were seen at these events that cost thousands of dollars to get to. To play in a few games.
To be real, on a roster of 18 (30 if MFA), how many will go on to a career in soccer that will fulfill the dreams these club owners push to wide eyed parents?
Who really are lining their pockets?
Soccer proven pathway = How much parents are willing to spend (time and $$$) on Joey or Jenny to have their coach “recommend” them for a camp where a couple of bigger and faster players “make it”.
Top players on NJ.com = private schools and top clubs ($$$). Coincidence?
As long as there is parent paranoia fueled by greedy club owners, this will continue.
Enjoy the game, not the idiotic, made up “process”.

The biggest lie the youth sports industry tells young female soccer players is that they can ALL be great.

As far as the other poster which sounds like a Coach or something lol.. I will just leave it at that but yes TALENT is GOD GIVEN, AMEN. I have to disagree with the part about the biggest lie in the sports industry that they are telling that ALL can be GREAT. Well I agree with that statement that ALL ARE GREAT. I believe it because it all matter in who is looking those players or judging those players. I can give you several examples of this in sports from Basketball, Football, Baseball, etc but since we talking about soccer, just think of all the kids you come across and either said wasn't good enough or yes this kid is it but someone says otherwise. I can remember when my oldest was going through the system and in my opinion she was a pretty descent soccer player enough to go on and play at the collegiate level at a top 10 school according to ranking (which I think is flawed also lol) but anyway I thought she was pretty decent. She was also a Champion in high school in the 100m hurdles, Triple Jump and High Jump. Yes Champion. not finalist but all in the same meet and qualified for the Meet of Champions which she couldn't run in due to soccer SMH... anyway US SOCCER said they question if she was ATHLETIC enough. Now I get it maybe they have never seen anyone special other than there "FRIENDS" or other ASSOCIATES kids but to say NOT ATHLETIC enough SMH. Anyway I think ALL THESE KIDS ARE GREAT and can be GREAT. It all about them and hopefully they find the right eyes that look at them and say YEP, "SHE's THE ONE"

Someone told you that your child was not good enough or someone though that your child or children didn't make the cut. Let me let you in on a little secret that maybe you don't get from not playing a sport yourself at the level these young kids including yours play. IT'S SPORTS and YOUTH SPORTS at that when you have different eyes making different judgements based off "THEIR" opinion. Nothing wrong with that because its SPORTS and that's the way it goes. As far as calling them "TURF" Princesses be careful of that because someone over there might not like that and take it personally. I myself don't have to worry about that because that's between them and those that consider their kid that term. Your obsession with those PDA kids is real but if you are really taking what you hear that "US SOCCER" is saying about PDA kids as something I should be worried about, well guess what I am not..sorry but what they think does not concern me for reason is that my kids are not in that league. See their opinion has NO BEARING on what my kids do or don't do. My kids play where they play because the "ENVIRIONMENT" is the most important to us as a FAMILY. Is the ENVIRONMENT for everyone...I would be an IDIOT like yourself if I said IT'S FOR EVERYONE and IT WORKS FOR EVERYONE. I would be some fool to think that. I am a FAN of all these leagues and CLUBS big or small. ITS THE ENVIRONMENT in which our children will develop the most in. Take the names off the front of the shirts and worry about the ENVIRONMENT and if YOUR CHILD or CHILDREN are developing and most importantly LOVING where they are playing. STOP worrying about what the "JONES" are doing and just make sure that YOUR kid is getting the most out of her ENVIRONMENT!!!!

Well said that’s a good summary of what youth soccer sadly has become, a numbers business predicated on checkbooks and promises.
