There are laws that non-profits MUST adhere to in order to maintain it's status. The gov't loves to go after them because then they ask for back taxes on all revenue generated. You realize that as a non-profit, they don't pay even federal payroll taxes. They don't pay taxes on hotel stays; they don't pay taxes on food purchased for the team; the don't pay taxes on equipment purchased; cars for the program; cell service; many, many things. It's a big deal to have a tax exempted status. It's an even bigger deal to poke the IRS bear so they take a closer look. Haven't you been following the college scandal/bribes? The shell corporation was a non-profit.

I think the feds eyes are opened to how many sporting teams (not just soccer) are abusing it's non-profit/tax exempt status. The tax returns for not for profits are usually public. Check into it.

There is usually criminality involved when the IRS ends its investigation into nonprofits. If I was at the top of Matchfit I would be doing an internal audit and from what this forum seems to be focusing on .
I would start with the girls program . Lots of skeletons in the closet over there. Match Fit should realize one employee can bring down the whole club .

have you learned nothing over these years? Soccer is a BIG business. Youth Sports bring in a ton of money. It's the drug of the wealthy/upper middle class.

Those salaries don’t even factor in all the extras like the extra trading and what about the coaches fees when we travel . They are paid that kind of money and we have to even flip the bill for there hotels and travel expenses. Again no wonder they roster so many. If 20 girls are traveling do the math and they are charging xyz that is a lot of side money for the coaches.

If you read the tax return you can see they are not reporting coaches fees they charge when they travel. That is a major no no. That is considered income by the IRS. As such is subject to being taxed and is in direct conflict with the rules of a 501c3 organization. The people that sit on top like the President and Executive Director of Match Fit would be the ones who the IRS will go after . Not the coaches . The board and executive director are responsible for the oversight . These matters can turn very quickly to criminal charges if wrongdoing is found. The IRS is known to be much harder on nonprofit organizations.

Why would a parent want their child to play at Match Fit . If you want the best for your child why would you want your child to barely play. It’s just the law of averages . If Match Fit Rosters 20 kids for a game that means at most your child will play is half a game . Does Match Fit give you half your money back. I don’t think so. What is the appeal of watching your kid sit the bench . Parents are wishful thinkers who don’t see their own stupidity.

Main reason is ECNL. If your kid is a top of the roster player at Matchfit there is not much to worry about but lower level kids are just a paycheck. Most parents think their kids are better than they are and get suckerd in to the ECNL spin by Bucci

1/2 a game would be worth it. try 6 minutes for an average Match Fit player #8-#26.

It’s actually funny when you go on Instagram and you compare the Match fit boys program to the girls program. The boys program seems to be about results and winning while the girls program is based off of hype . Maybe because the girls program stinks and the boys program seems to have success.
