Why so angry are you another one wandering around til 10 at nite watching kids scrimmage on 1/8 of a field in a coaches trench ? If you ever see my kids play you’d know I give a lot back to the game big shot

I'm not angry, I'm giving you a compliment for giving back to the game. It's not easy for everyone so I'm glad there are others like myself who do a lot.

I won't brag about my kids, it's irrelevant. So, welcome aboard and appreciate your extra efforts that everyone can enjoy your knowledge and experience. One thing about the sport is there aren't enough of it, even today.

You know, a lot of people don't know a GD thing about collegiate soccer. So, they go to a welcoming website like talking-soccer.com to ask a question, and look forward to informative, respectful response.

It has nothing to do with my kid or anyone’s kid , and everyone knows when u attack someone for nothing it’s your own inner frustration, , if clubs only provide leagues then why have coaches , for some keyboard idiot to say coaching doesn’t matter than why are the internationals better ?

Of course coaches matter! But why blame the clubs and coaches when players do not develop to become competitive enough for college soccer. You could train 20 players doing the same drills and same training yet maybe 2-3 will develop to be good enough to play college soccer. That’s life! Players develop to a certain level and for the vast majority they are just not good enough to play at a higher level in college. TS posters look for excuses to blame clubs and coaches.

You could train 20 players doing the same drills and same training yet maybe 2-3 will develop to be good enough to play college soccer. That’s life! Players develop to a certain level and for the vast majority they are just not good enough to play at a higher level in college. TS posters look for excuses to blame clubs and coaches.

My wife , myself and my kids will play college soccer but that has nothing to do wt the fact that how much scrimmaging in small sections of a field nite after nite is productive, it’s not , I won’t break down tech\tactical stuff on this but kids have no idea about movement and position and responsibility both in and out of possession it’s just kids spastically rushing playing ball forward n long and a few scissors in between . If that’s good to you than I respect your opinion . We have superior women soccer players athletically bc men sports make big money other sports in US even in college now wt NIL . But if you disagree ok

When you are coaching, how are you doing it differently?

No one is arguing with your point about the technical side of soccer but you must take in consideration of the cultural differences between American soccer and international football. Here in the States for 95% soccer is an after school activity with training 2-3 days per week for 1.5 hours per session and games on the weekend. International football is everyday with either training or individuals kicking around the soccer ball and playing pick up matches. The big difference is cultural not the clubs/coaches here in the States. College coaches look for players that will help them compete at a high level and win! If your kid is good enough then they will be identified. That’s it! A big part of development is self motivation and coaches know which players are all in and which see it as a after school activity.

Is the same excuse for years the cultural excuse , most 8 year boys who play soccer play edp and town soccer practice 4 times a week and play games all weekend and cup games and scrimmages between that and a bunch tournaments , train all winter futsal /indoor and quit all other activities except soccer , it’s basically a pro schedule . You mentioned after school activity what now European kids play soccer in school come on wt the excuses . Coaching is bad boys soccer , US women have best soccer players in terms of athletlicism and look who coaches them an English woman and other coach Jill Ellis she won multiple World Cups she European.

Agreed. And there are a lot of people who don't know a GD thing about colleges with good academics either. The question was actually quite a good one.

I rather my daughter look at D3 schools to still play soccer but also have a life outside of soccer and enjoy the entire college experience. Any school recommendations that have a good D3 programs as well as great academics ??

If you really want to know the truth and facts about great D3 Colleges and soccer without personal biases of TS parents then I recommend you do your own homework and vetting. Go to NCAA.com and look up the current D3 NCAA soccer tournament and view the great colleges who are playing in the tournament. That is all you need to know to get started. The rest is up to you.
