    Clubs

Most youth clubs charge parents $3-$4k per year.

I watch training sessions all the time.

The quality of coaching and player connection is nowhere NEAR that value.

I hardly ever see parents watching; they just assume they are getting what they pay for.

Lazy coaching is the norm. Parents don’t know what good soccer is nevermind a good training. That said cost continue to go up.

How do you stop the system? It’s everywhere. Complaints get ignored by clubs since there is the next parent with a check ready to step in. The system is broke and nothing can be done about it other than just playing a different sport.

The parents have no other choices if their children likes to play soccer. Every club charges that much, even the less good ones.

I don’t watch by design. I know what I’m paying for. No reason to be helicoptering from the sideline. Let the kid be themselves just for a few hours a week.

I also don’t watch her math class or ski classes either.

Doesn’t do most parents any good to watch since don’t even know what to look for

That’s BS so if you pay for soccer and your kids is running for at least half of the practice without a ball that’s a sign lol

                  Umm no.

Been involved with the game for forty years. The days of getting riled up are long gone. I’m happy watching them playing and competing in the game we love.

Why are the NJ posters always so angry?

So why dont you breakdown the costs? include field rentals, ref fees, coach pay/travel, tournament fees, and then decide what things cost

we play about 40 games and have 100 practices in a year. At $25 a pop, that is $3500. Since practices are 90 minutes, and games are close to that, that's about $16/hr for my kid to play what she loves. What's a bounce house cost per hour?

Just my opinion- if you are not ECNL level, you are overpaying to play in ECRL when you can be playing EDP at a local town for way less.
