Has anyone worked with The College Soccer Guy for college recruiting?

Does anyone have experience working with Zev, the College Soccer Guy (https://www.collegesoccerguy.com/), for college recruiting? Would love to hear some feedback/comments.

Are you doing a lot of work on your own self promoting and attracting attention? Have you reached out to schools on your own?

He has no clue what he’s talking about. Scam.

It's a bit too early for that as my son is a freshman. I am just starting to educate myself on how the system works. I know self promotion is key, but I was also looking for some general guidance on this.

He seems to know what he’s talking about and is willing to give a free consultation and references. That said, if you’re willing to put the work in he’s not providing you with anything you couldn’t do yourself.

I'll give the inbred coaches at my son's current club some credit here -- if you consistently aren't willing to pass and move (and do your part to keep the team's shape rather than freelancing and wandering around as you see fit), you'll hear about it and may lose playing time.

Watching the recruiters buzz about the first club games this month after the fall high school season was a good reminder of some of the big differences there -- my son was part of a good high school team, but positional discipline was anywhere from just OK to bad and frustrating to watch (also costly for the team).

I'm familiar with the club-soccer dysfunction factor -- it's tough for some new players to fit into his team because of the cliquishness, which he just deals with since he's not really in anybody's in-group -- but the on-field standards have been a major silver lining on the club side for him.

My daughter knows a few meh players who now play d2/3 and a few really good ones not get recruited. Think the self promoting and tapes must be huge.
