Maybe there is some murky stuff at really young ages but by the time you are at U12, you are very aware of which team your kid is on. They have B & C teams even in the countries we all look to with so much envy.
But yes, that is no excuse for 'trash' coaching. The product should still be good quality, even if the level of intensity/performance expectations are different.

Quite the opposite actually. Very few "can play in that league" and that's why a second rate team with poor coaching is still highly desired as you get a ton of exposure that you can't get from teams in other leagues. Sure there are GA and even ECRL teams better than White, but those GA teams don't face Blue and Penn Fusion twice a year plus go to ECNL showcases.
