Good for them, but it’s Presidents Cup, why didn’t they play State Cup instead?

Is it though? If you are the 270th ranked team does it really matter if you win the national championship of teams ranked 250 and lower?

Imagine playing a national championship game at 2007 level with zero coaches watching. Game comprised of non technical players that look to K&C. Hoping for a D1 offer that’s not coming. Participation awards for everyone !!!

the presidents cup is the state cup. the state cup has 3 tiers based on what league / division you play in.

top flight of state cup is national championship series. (EDP 1 & 2, E64, NAL NEAL)

2nd flight is presidents cup. (EDP 3-5)

3rd flight is national challenger series. (EDP 6 & Below, Metro, MCYSA, MNJYSA, MOSA)

Deptford is an EDP 3 team... so they played in the Presidents Cup.

You can apply for whatever level Cup you want to play in. If you are a good EDP league, you can play in nat'l champ series. I don't think any of this kids are looking to play in college, so let them have fun and enjoy. congrats, boys!!

So they won the 2nd tier of state cup that excludes the top few tiers of top leagues. Got it, I guess it’s something to brag about.

You people are absolutely miserable. Like most in this country, sadly.

I'd argue they're helping new soccer parents out on how to avoid BS social media promotion, but to each their own.

Saw Deptford was listed in Acela for 2013Gs so that's a start (although after the "pre" teams left).

No, I think they're miserable people.

Kids in these 'lower' leagues know they are not stars. They are fully aware of the levels 'above' them. But they enjoy playing soccer and get the same competitive thrill as people in the 'top' leagues, even if the technical skills are not as good. Plus, it's all a passing phase anyway and all these kids will be finished by their 20s.

Kids might know they are not stars, but their parents sure think they are. Too many of those parents tell their kids you are better than those in higher leagues, but its politics or other bs that keep them from making the better teams. Stay in your lane and enjoy. If you are a rec level player, or EDP3 or whatever you want to call it, then play locally and don't travel for bs tournaments that will be made fun of by better players and their families.
