Just wondering if anyone can recommend a great coach & team for this age? Son plays for an academy in Monmouth County area at a high level. I’m fed up with the money grab. He has regressed mentally this year and fear he may give up the sport that used to bring him so much joy. I don’t care if we have to move backwards to a lower level, just miss his love for the sport and how it was reflected on the field. We moved in this direction to help foster his desire to train at a high level but quickly realized that they’ll promise you the world before payment is due then do the exact opposite. He’s a great kid that works hard, does what he’s asked, and his teammates love him. Just haven’t found the right coach! Would love to move him sooner rather than later so having spots open for spring season would be an added bonus!

So your son has regressed mentally and somehow it’s the clubs fault? If he works and trains hard great, is he effective during games? You can work and train all you want, but if in games you can’t hack it, I guess all that’s left is to blame the coach.

Your kid is training at a higher level, “working hard” so you say. But you want him at a lower level. Doesn’t make much sense,
just say you’re not happy with his play time. And take him to ocean county soccer club lol

I can't help with team recommendations; however, even if people recommend for or against a specific club, YOU/YOUR CHILD need to form your own opinion by practicing with the team, watching their games, etc. My child loves her team and coach, but her club regularly gets bashed on here. While you don't say this is about playing time, I assume it is...please be aware that even at town travel clubs, playing time will not be equal by this age, so it's really important to push the coach to tell you where your kid fits in the roster, but know that this can change for a variety of reasons. We had a kid that made the top team but was bottom of the roster, it was a pretty miserable year for her. Moved down and she flourished, so don't give up hope that he will find his love of the sport again.

It would help to understand what level he plays at, since there are many clubs/teams at varying levels
