We really need a "Commitment Date" for offers

Top teams should just all agree to this and advertise "We stick by the Commitment Date, any club that tries to get you to commit before that is one you should be wary about. They just want to lock you down before you realize you can do better"

If top teams do this, lower level teams have to or people will know how much of a scam they are.

Feel free to have as many tryouts, id days, or whatever, and feel free to make as many offers as you want, but no one can commit for the official date

What is a mid or low level club going to say?

obviously this will fail, just ranting when I see what clubs are doing to kids. "Let's have tryouts in march and you have to let us know before you get a chance to look anywhere else" and you KNOW if someone better comes along you can easily be pushed to the bench or the B team.

I see my kids club doing it and it makes me mad (and it doesnt even affect my kid directly)

They did this in PA a few years ago and it only lasted one year. The problem was a the smaller clubs who didn't sign on. The top clubs were fine at the highest level, but if you are trying to fill out your C and D teams a month after smaller clubs send offers, you lose a lot of players.

Club volleyball has a common week for tryouts and a common date where all clubs extend and accept offers.
