But, I have and will always say that the "best" youth soccer players (mine included) are the best who come from areas where there are opportunities, we can afford it, and can accommodate the travel.     Go watch a local Mexican league where the girls play with the boys.

    It will change your mind on what good is. Now you might wonder why one of the games isn't happening... it's b/c the kids couldn't get a ride (like the whole team couldn't get a ride to the league) and then it sets in that you don't even understand what poor is. Even if the kids can get a scholarship to a big club... how the heck are they gonna travel to anything.

    American Youth soccer for the most part is an experience for your kids, a good place for some life skill development and not much more. if your kid is having fun, learning how to work hard and be a good teammate and you can afford such things... it is totally fine.
