Typical response time to an offet

How much do clubs typically give you to respond with a deposit to reserve a spot? Had a couple of offers for my kid - one was 7 days, the other 48 hours.

I’ve only seen 48 hours and then they follow up with you. You can ask for more time. If they really want you they will wait for you.

I have seen 48 and 72 hours. Most clubs will work with you if they really want you. Just be honest with them and let them know your time frame. I had one say to my older son "You have an offer as long as we have an open spot, just let us know"

Would be nice if clubs can be honest has well but don’t see that happening with some clubs

I understand both sides. It is a business and they want to get the best players so they can grow. Hard to hold a spot open too long since they might miss someone else. Just wish there was a "commitment day" that everyone knew about. Be cool to have a system so that as soon as you commit to a club your other offered are rejected (ok, its youth sports, just think it would be cool)

I am sure this has been brought up to ecnl , EDP, “insert acronym here” :) league brass. Wonder what were political forces to make them devvide against it. There are set times in NCAA, pro leagues, etc.

So, that could mean minutes, days, or weeks? "We've got a spot for you until someone better comes along".
