IN ADDITION TO THAT CLUB CHARGE TOURNAMENT FEES SEPERATELY , WE ARE PLAYING 1 TOURNAMENT IN THIS SPRING SEASON , COST FOR TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION IS $1050 , M$$ CHARGING $150 PER PLAYER ( ROSTER IS 22 PLAYER 22 x 150=3300)

All these clubs are money grabs. You should only pay that if your kids a starter or first group subbed in. I was told by someone that if you are not in the top 14 of the roster, you will not play. So if you are in that boat, find a team where your kid actually plays. Otherwise what is the point?

20/21 is probably about the right number... I get it you want to see your kid play... but the truth is they can't run that much if you are playing high tempo game.
- on that roster is probably 2 goalies - one who dresses for a game. If you only carry one goalie... you better have a back up stud on the team below.
- that leaves 18/19 field players...1 to 2 are injured/sick at any given point

so you really have a full roster or maybe a game day roster of 17 with 6 subs. Which is fine.

In HS there's more kids out injured. During recruiting some are away on visits. 18 could get tight, 20 is fine, over 20 is ridik. A HS age team definitely needs 2 committed GK's, not a field player substitute. GKs get injured too.

18 is the correct #. If you need additional players you get them from the 2nd team. It is awful to go to events and see kids told they aren't dressing for a game. It is still youth soccer, regardless of the league badge.

Shame on any coach that doesn't inform a player ahead of time. They should be fired for that. I doubt it happens often because parent would rip them a new arsehole.
