    Roster sizes u14-19

What is the appropriate roster size for ages u14-19. (Particularly at clubs with ECNL and GA status). are other 14/15 year old girls not rostered for league games?

16 total. 11 starters, 1 GK Sub, 4 field subs.

Pda is the exception where roster sizes are 18/19 at young ages, the price to pay to have the honor to wear those 3 letters

That's an ACL and concussion away from disaster.

Usually 18 players once playing 11v11.

"appropriate roster size". Depends, am I a player or the guy cashing the checks?

if a player and there is a B team that I can call people up from, I would say 16-17 (like the guy above said). Really do not think there should be players on a team that are known not to play on a regular basis

1 GK is a huge mistake
16 total? Wait until 32 have injuries and 2 are on college trip

You readily need 18. 20 isn't ideal but ok. It will need more attention from the coach to manage PT. Above 20 is a money grab buy for top teams never underestimate FOMOs power to have their kid be a bench warmer

18 can be rostered for a game. If a team has 20 and all 20 are healthy/available (rare in HS) some coaches will have a set play Sat and another Sunday.

Pull up from 2nd team if needed instead of needlessly keeping kids on the bench, not playing.

I think he said 1 goalkeeper SUB. So that would be 2 Gk’s total

2 GKs should get equal time in club, either splitting a game or doing every other game. They're not really a "sub" but an essential part of the lineup. By U14 you can't get away with subbing in a field player if a GK gets hurt.

Honor wearing the three letters and honor to warm the bench for the players who get more playing time.
