It’s just not true. Take a recent local example from Thanksgiving showcase…

MFA 05/06 tied PDA MLSN 2-2
MFA 2008 beat PDA MLSN 3-0

Those teams were mostly NAL players.

After the MLS academies, college coaches prioritize top of the table MLS Next teams and top of the table ECNL teams. Middle/bottom of the table MLS Next teams and middle/bottom of the table ECNL teams have an equally challenging uphill battle.

I think there is a lot of truth to geography situation, I heard that a lot of the top Cali teams went from MLSn to ECNL.

Very accurate post. My son plays D1 and that has been the prioritizing regarding college commitments for his friends. A few didn’t get their top choices and decided to play instead at top D3 academic/soccer programs instead.

Not true, you have CSA Monmouth (mls) and pda (mls) not sure who is worse here. But they are both crap.

No, they wasn't. They were their MLS Next team. My kid play them and know lot of the kids in the team and they all there.

My kid is on the team. It was a mixture of bottom rostered MLS Next players and NAL players.

So that's the lowest kids from a low MLSn team, tying and losing to the top ECNL team...not sure you we need more proof than that

If we exclude MLS academies, seems clear the best path for college recruiting exposure is to be on a top of the table MLSN or ECNL team. What about the USYS platform - how deep of a run at USYS nationals might a team need to achieve to get college recruiting interest?

Coaches barely give it a glance. Coaxhe attendenance is thin. MLSN is a large league so there's plenty of shopping opportunities between that and ECNL. Players can get recruited but it's mostly going to be through their own perseverance and doing ID events.
