Surely adding teams will mean those that are in ECNL are then pushed to actually BE BETTER because otherwise kids will want to leave for another ECNL club. Problem with NJ is that there is no other teams so MF and PDA (particularly white) can do a bad job at coaching/ have teams that are poor and still get players. If you added another NJ team in between those, now those 2 clubs have to work harder to be better and the general level increases.

In Virginia there are 5 ECNL + 3 GA all within 30 miles of each other

Now you have a similar situation in the Philly area, not as close as 30 miles, but in driving range. 5 ECNL clubs: PF, Delco, Fc Hex, Ukies and PDA South, and 3 GA: Real, SJEB and Sporting.

With the adddition of Ukies to the Mid Atlantic conference, MFA will moving to the New England conference next season. They are the only ECNL team from North Jersey, so it just makes sense to move them now that the Ukies are in the Mid Atalntic. Sort of like what happened to CSA when SJEB joined the GA. CSA got shifted to a different division to even things out. The New England conference only has 8 teams, and the Mid Atlantic has 10, not including Ukies. Just wait till the 2009 Shore parents have to drive to Boston for one game. Prepare for PDA to get more MF players next season.

MFA players are not good enough for PDA.

ECNL should just start a NJ PDA conference with:

PDA Blue
PDA White
PDA Shore
PDA South
PDA Roxbury
PDA SCP

So they can play amongst themselves.

ECNL has gone from Elite to watered down. Is it even impressive to be on an ECNL roster anymore?

If they were adding mediocre clubs I'd agree. But they aren't. Those areas have already been supporting plenty of solid clubs in both leagues. The player pool doesn't change, just what league they play in

Since I sometimes read other boards here's an example....CFC in CT has it easy because FSA is so terrible and the only GA club, Oakwood, is also bad. Is CFC pushing themselves to be their best when better players flock there as the only decent option? Or are those others so poor because it's a small state with a small player pool?

Depends on where you live. Are you making World Class? Impressive. Are you making Hex/Bucks? Not so much. In the end, its teams. Its hard to make TopHat, easy to make FSA. League only means so much.

Maybe, or maybe they will kick FC Hex out of ECNL and keep MFA in NA conference which would have much more sense.

Not so sure in that. NEFC is the better club but is blocked by politics. SSS isn't as good and the club owner is a nut. FC Stars will battle either being admitted tooth and nail
