It will not be below it. It will grow. Its not about the 1st year but what it will be in the 10 th year. New families will have very few choices in leagues soon. Leagues like edp will be left behind.
uhmm yeah exactly so in 10 years by the time your kid is 25 and out of college the ECRL 2 will be a decent league. too funny!!!
Genius
No its not. Two separate leagues ecrl1 will be the c teams of ECNL clubs and play their own schedule. ECRL2 will play in a separate league. They may play one another at tournaments. Which one will be better. who knows.
Struggling to understand why people think this is below the current ECRL. 'The 2023-2024 season will feature 17 different ECNL Girls Regional Leagues nation-wide'. The 2 new leagues are part of the already structured ECRL, not below it as some are trying to suggest.
They don't have to, it is implied. The fact that it overlaps 2 current RL conferences and includes over a half dozen current ECNL satellite clubs shows it. They may get the ability to go to ECNL/RL national playoffs just don't expect them to do much their.
So you are saying that the "new northeast RL division" teams CAN be promoted to ECNL? Personally, these new clubs are WORSE than the ECRL North Atlantic "second teams". Looks like your club is trying to spin things to make this new thing look good. In my view, I would think that you would have to get "promoted" from this new thing, to ECRL North Atlantic, and then promoted again to ECNL North Atlantic (and then have to get a 2nd team for ECRL North Atlantic). NO WAY they would promote anyone from the new "thing" directly to ECNL North Atlantic (and then have to have them get a 2nd team in ECRL North Atlantic). This new thing is for VERY low level clubs
yes the New league and RL throughout the country can be promoted based on club performance. as mentioned, several clubs have been promoted up. The current North Atlantic and New England teams CANNOT be promoted since their home base team are already have ECNL Status. those teams are considered 2nd teams and will now be forever considered 2nd teams. There is not pathway for those teams to be moved up to ECNL. All the clubs in Northeast can be promoted up. Why would you stay at Match Fit denville, World class NY etc when you can go those new clubs and play for a chance to be promoted up and be considered an A team.

Masterclass by the ECNL, Ceating the foundation for organic growth into the league
Growth into the league? By bringing in lower tiered clubs? The master class would be if the could merge with GA and recreate the entire system using those 2 + RL leagues clubs. Then they could go on to wipe out DPL, EDP and the rest of USYS.

Ga is not going to merge into ecnl genius. All ECNL has to do is offer a deserving GA clubs a spot on the ECNL national league and the GA club would run ,not walk to the ECNL. How fast do you think FC Virginia or Nefc would run if offered a spot. How do I know?, They are doing that across the US now and GA teams are running to the ECNL platform . They don't need a GA merger, nor do they want one. They will strategically pick off whoever they want from The GA. GA will not have teams to add from the grassroots because teams will be part of the ECRL2 and they will pick off any club they want in the GA. Like I said masterclass!

Have you ever looked outside of the North Atlantic and New England conferences? The RL conferences have both ECNL B teams and RL only clubs, so why change that in this area? The answer is simple, the new RL league does not have a direct line to ECNL and will instead be the beginnings of a 3rd tier league. They filled it full of clubs that are satellite clubs of current ECNL and average local clubs that have been on the outside looking in and chopping at the bit to join ECNL or GA but have been denied.

The only thing I see the "grassroots" ECNL 2 doing is keeping those clubs from ever achieving ECNL or GA status. Why would anyone want to sit on a 3rd-5th team instead of moving to a B team or ECNL/GA team? If you've ever looked at the ECNL application, and I assume the GA one as well, player accomplishments at the club, youth and college level are a large part of the application. Challenging for a national title in USYS does little if your players are going to bottom end soccer colleges because the better players have moved on to ECNL, RL, or GA clubs.

you know nothing about college recruiting or placement, just lookup how many 04, 05 players from pda white ecnl committed to small d3 schools. I can assure no one from pda white or pda south 09 ecnl is going anywhere near a recognized D1 program! so what are you talking about? you think college coaches care about ECRL 2 or ecnl or any of that horse crap? stop embarrassing yourself and if want a class on collegiate sports or soccer send me your #

I disagree, you are only seeing what you see today. I think this league will grow inside the ECNL platform One has to ask themselves, would you rather have your daughter play for the ECRL 3rd team or 4th team inside the National club structure or play for a particular club that is strong and growing and is the number 1 team for that club and they also play inside the ECNL structure. They get to attend all the tournaments. I think there will be lower-level clubs that will not ever be strong inside the Ecrl2 but there will be clubs across the country, including the tri-state area, that will grow inside the system. you will always have to look at your choices and then decide but the answer certainly isn't automatic, It will depend on the club.

PDA south 06 has 3 power 5 commits. PDA white 06 has 4 D1 commits.. So I disagree with you, but I will not call you Bozo. How about if I just call you friend.

The only thing organic is what is being spread around here. Just call it the EDP ECRL the only difference between the players and teams would be that ECNL makes more money/gets the checks now going to EDP.
Masterclass in how a big business can crush the little guys and the silent casualties are the kids and the decline in participation numbers.

If an EDP team is offered ECRL do you think they would take it in this environment
