Yes. That sounds like WCFC alright. Ofcourse WCFC attracts talent. Albany to Orangeberg is no easy commute. It's a successful ECNL club but it has it's failings - and you are being ignorant, defensive and lying if you think otherwise.

As you say, all clubs have their failings. Coaches not being upfront and honest with players and families is not one of them at WCFC.

Why is “populating the whole club with players and coaches” a bad thing? How would they field teams without players and coaches?

Post #41. Says that the DOC at WCFC populates the whole club with players and coaches. That’s what a soccer club is supposed to do, right?

I think the post is referring to the immediate and extended family of the DOC at WC

WCFC is sending 15 teams to ECNL Nationals this year. If that's the result of the DOC's coaches and recruiting efforts, then that's a pretty good DOC.

If there was a decent market in Albany, there'd be a club there. We are spoiled on the east coast with population and geographic density. Kids in other states often have to travel much further for things

Certainly not my D. She had a great time and is now on the college team at her top choice college. Everything worked out great.

Seems like multiple people posting here with good experiences with WCFC, while you are the only one here that is trying to paint a negative picture of the club.

My kids both played at World Class. Club provided good facilities, coaching and mostly fair treatment. Thats all we asked for. Neither was always on the best team or was always considered the best player. Sometimes things were done that made you scratch your head, but not often. They won a little more than they lost. Was there some favouritism at times? Sure, but no more than anywhere else. There were egos, but that is everywhere. It was a great place to learn the game for both of them.

Did you play golf with the coach?

My son plays at WC with one of the DOCs son. Though the DOC seems like a great guy, there is always favoritism - not the in your face kind of stuff but obvious enough to the people affected.
