Cool sport but please be mindful of the proper lingo and dress code if you are a super sports parent. And remember it all starts with the car magnet.

You sound like the kind of guy who kept blaming coaches for your kids lack of playing time. After a bit of club hopping you have realized your kid belongs in rec…. Now you hate the sport and all people involved so you try to make fun of them.

Actually no- he strikes me as a guy who actually does keep his mouth shut and his kid is probably a strong player so he doesn’t need to resort to the BS taglines these dumbass parents use. This person for the win. Good that you can see the humor and craziness of it all. You are a true “good ball” proud parent. I wish I could buy you a new car magnet… although I imagine yours is in good shape.

But isn’t a car magnet NOT in good shape the definition of a true soccer parent? Does the old cracked magnet speak to how entrenched you are? Or is clean new magnet the way to go. We haven’t discussed this. I need to know so I, too, can be a super soccer parent. And my club gear? New every year or do I wear the old sweatshirt so it looks worn? These are important details. I don’t want the college coaches to pass me, uh…I mean, my daughter, by

This is an excellent point. Its really a philosophical difference. On one hand a SSP can show longstanding commitment to the club by wearing "legacy" gear. It promotes a street cred and reinforces that your kid has made it through tryouts before and part of the foundation of the team. Establishes with the other parents that your kid gets playing time. Is short, you command respect. On the other hand, so many clubs are hyper focused on the look of the team (often more focused on this than actual coaching). Clubs are obsessed with making sure "kits" are constantly changing and the team is purchasing as much of their gear as possible. This shows monetary commitment to the club and allows the club to milk as much cash from families as possible. Those that don't wear the newest and most "kit" show a lack of commitment to the club. Perhaps it would be safest to keep the beat up car magnet in place but maybe add a new magnet to It he other side of the car. This covers all bases.

As we head into summer and "academy" soccer slows down please don't forget to represent your club on vacation. Wear your club t shirts, sweatshirts, etc. Remember your kids ARE club soccer players and you want people far and wide to know that.

SSP here. When I notice the other team is a little rough and I feel they should be carded my move is to yell “don’t let her push you”. Draws attention to the offending player and sometimes get the call. I learned this by watching and admiring other SSP. I am also a sideline sitter- get there early to stake my spot. Car magnet on all of our cars.

I just yell out why are you taking that shi* if they aren't going to make any calls take advantage. Might get a few looks but it seems to work and there are a few more whistles.

Someone stole our antique PDA magnet or it gave up on life but the outline is burned into the paint fade. We won't be buying another one.
