My DD will be an incoming freshman at our local HS. She recently asked me for some advice on how to impress the upperclassman and most importantly the head coach.

I told her simply, make sure you wear your club training gear to all captains practices to show the other kids that you mean business and you play at a club level. Most importantly when you are calling for the ball, make sure you project these keys words “yeah, yeah” with your arms out and palms up in the air.

Agreed. Wear the gear. Hs coaches love to hear how superior your club is, especially in regards to training. Maybe tell your daughter to offer to lead some drills she learned in club. Even better, sit out hs practice due to overworking at club. Coaches love that!!!!

sounds like this is all hitting close to home for you. Which means you are a SSP. Keep up the great work.

They are a traditionalist….work hard, listen to your coach and be a good teammate……and everything will fall into place.

Remember now that high school has started please make sure your kids wear their club attire to HS events. It separates you from the pack. Its a way of saying, I play club soccer so therefore I am better than those who don't.

Not only wear your club gear, please do not forget to wear the high priced gear from all the national events you travel to. The more showcase locations the better!

I think you’ve got it wrong. My kid dominates in club and therefore in HS. That’s why it’s important to flex. It also shows financial superiority. I see you looking when I roll up in my SUV with my car magnet.

And remember as a SSP, once the games start you must only speak with other SSPs. Only we know what it’s like to have our kids dominate both club and HS teams.
