Right. They are going to leave and play on borrowed fields from CSA.

Hands down the dumbest thing I've ever read on here. If SJEB players weren't rushing to PDA South to get an actual ECNL patch why would they run farther north to get an RL one?

Well, first, Real's 07 team was the Medford team and second, while CSA has several former "pro" players they are players that were never was. You have a bunch of players that played on mid and lower level Euro teams and MLS decades ago. Most played so long ago girls soccer wasn't even a thing yet.

Whereas Real has produced USMNT and EPL talent which is pretty impressive and to be commended. Not bad for a little club from SJ!

Fake News, he never actually played for Real. He developed at the Union.

This is both Toxic and Funny at the same time. My D is looking to move out of EDP/USYS. She wants to play in college. She is a keeper and her choices are SJEB and PDA South. We have not met with MFS or Real yet. I am encouraged after reading this, apparently everyone stinks and she will face lots of shots, wherever she decides to go. She will not be stuck in between arcs watching.

Our experience at SJEB was not as good as PDA South. The coach at SJEB talked very poorly about the previous keeper and mentioned names. I did not find this cool. Both coaches talked up their ability to get her prepped for college and getting college looks. They are both current college coaches, so they may know more than the average soccer dad.

It does appear that both programs have good and bad. The training seemed fine at both, she does specific Keeper Training on the side at TKI anyway. The current team members seemed more welcoming at PDA. They cost about the same. Reading the posts on here. SJEB had a pedophile at one point and PDA South may be out of the league. Who knows.

Much more information about PDA parents on here. TBH, there are EDP teams with entitled parents. RV, Marlton and Deptford being some of the worst.

That has been our experience so far. Definitely eye opening.

SJEB is the top choice for the teams in area you named. Real toxic man coaches most of their ga teams. pda south a waste of money

It all depends on the age and the coach. SJEB is hit or miss with the coaches while PDA South is a little more flighty. D has been at both and the training, from a field player stand point, is far better at SJEB. One thing she didn't like at South was that a friend of hers was a goalie for the ECNL team and during the trapped player year was replaced for every game during the first half of the season for the trapped 8th grade goalie from the RL team a year up. This was the only regular goalie this team had and the coach still felt the need to alienate her so she quit leaving them with no goalie...at the ECNL level a team could not find an of age goalie. For both teams just remember it isn't the kids so much you need to worry about, it's the parents. Keep an eye on who is constantly up the coaches butt after practice and games and who is hanging around them during over night stays.

Either way, your kid as a goalie will get some good action as both clubs play some good competition. Either way stick with TKI.

We got to meet with Match Fit and Real. Neither went as expected, but she got "offers" Real was probably the worst. She did not do great, and was corrected on every little thing she did, so it seemed to get a little worse. She disliked the individual immediately, but made it through the whole hour. The interaction was so poor, she was in tears afterwards. Nothing Playa Bowls and her weekly TKI trip can't fix. Both Match Fit and Real wanted her to do things she does not currently get into a lot. Teams she has been on have not been able to hold possession or keep the ball in the opponents half, so she typically only gets up to between the arcs if it is going well, otherwise she is up past the first arc on the 18, because the attack continuously comes on. This did not fit what either team was looking for. So she has some growth opportunity there.

There are several things to take from all this. My D personally had the best interactions with the team and coaches from PDA South, she will probably chose to go there. No one gave her issues with dual carding. It helped her a lot with her confidence, she learned she can play at a higher level, and is very excited to learn new things (punt less, play from the back more) and continue to grow with TKI.

                        1. Only one person we have interacted with in the last 2 -3 years has really been "negative"
                        2. Team Coaches and Trainers at TKI encourage her that she can play in college, hopefully they are all genuine, and there is just the one outlier. She has received good feedback from ID Camps, still to young to engage fully with D2.
                        3. There are always things any of our D's can work on.
                        4. Moving teams is not as simple as picking a team. There needs to be a culture fit and a coaching fit. Otherwise, you are not setting your D up for success and happiness, IMHO.
                        5. Not really looking forward to wading into the non-USYS parent pool, maybe they will say the same about me.
                        6. The racket there is for clubs to get money, because our kids want to play college is crazy. What percentage really go? In Baseball it is something like 7% of travel players. Coach Expenses and random training fees were some, but spending time on this forum, it did not shock me.
                        7. 1/100 posts are actually helpful, so that to those.
                        8. NJ Blaze is the #1 Destination! Sadly they do not have a team matching my D's age and it would have been a lateral move.

Some quick notes...Yes, keepers need to learn ball skills and be able to do more than just play between the posts. Not liking a coach because they correct you should never be a thing. Correction makes a player better so it would depend on how the correction was done. Was she called out during the practice in a negative way to embarrass her just made to correct an action? I do know some of the players on Real teams are territorial. They don't like outsiders who play their or friends positions or don't like players who come from outside the Shawnee, Cherokee, Lenape, or Seneca schools. MF, shore I am assuming, is an entire other bag of nuts. For PDA South you need to pay close attention to who the coach is and which team she is playing on. South seldom moves players from RL to ECNL and would rather bring in same level players from the outside. D played for South ECNL for a while but left due to the coach, lake of training (2x a week and next to nothing between Dec and Feb), and a few parents. She hated to leave as not everyone is rich white trash and she has several friends that are still their. Talk to a few parents to get an idea about the coach, the level of training, and how happy they and their kid is with South. For ECNL, they have a thing called a discovery player. Each team is allowed up to 2 discovery players and basically side steps the club loyalty rule by allowing a player to play on an outside club.

Good luck with the upcoming season and don't stress to much about where she lands. Pretty much any of these GA and ECNL clubs in this area go on to the same level in college.

Sounds a little soft to be crying about soccer. Save the money and take up another hobby.

You may have misread, She was upset about being treated like **** by an *******. Coaches and Trainers are always correcting, that is normal everyday life.

Thanks to all for your replies. Based on our eye opening experience, my D has decided to take up Volleyball and Track in HS. She is stepping away from Soccer. She cannot achieve her goals and is way too emotional.
