Is it a shi**y way to run a team? Absolutely. Terrible life lessons.
CT has a rule that you can't do ANY club activity during your HS season. Schools with violators forfeit any games the rule breaking player was in. It even cost one school a decent run in states. MA has a similar rule to NH - can't miss HS. However, clubs that look the other way are creating more problems with the vast majority of families who follow the rules. In the long run it's foolish.

She would have loved to play both, but last June we were told point blank by the DOC that DA does NOT allow girls to play both - but obviously that's not the case.

If anyone really wants to go all Woodward on it, I guess they can go to the papers. Good luck getting the papers to even understand it...

I would be concerned about penalties given to the whole team if they are found to be doing this. Again, not up on DA rules so I can’t really comment on that, but at the HS level, there should be no missing of any high school practices/games for Club. If SU received a blessing to allow waivers for some players (I don’t know...), I hope that the players involved know enough not to skip HS activities for club.
- Only private school kids get waivers, which much be approved by the club and USSF. Typically only the studs the club wants to keep will get them, and by necessity they will be limited in number.
- Public school gets zero waivers.
- Even if a player has a waiver, there is to be zero GDA activity (practices or games) while the player's HS team is in session, from preseason training to post season playoffs. Once your team is officially finished THEN you can return to your club team.
- Players with no waivers who play HS are in violation of GDA rules
Pretty simple.

What is the penalty from US Soccer for violating a rule such as this?
Is it a severe talking to, expulsion, 2 points in the standings, etc.?

Why Are people so dense about this?
1. Of course we all know waivers are only for prep in private school. So yes, there are no wavered players at a public school. However, if there is a player missing public high school activities for DA/club activities that is in violation of NHIAA rules.
2. Conversely, if a wavered prep/private school player is attending DA activities, that is in violation of USSF/DA rules.
3. Lastly, if ANY DA player is also playing ANY high school (prep or public) at the same time time, that is also in violation of the USSF/DA rules.
As it stands now, we only have proof that #3 is happening with a public school player (HS stats in local paper & DA game reports bear this out). This should be stopped immediately or be sanctioned. If others have proof that 1 & 2 are also happening, then the club is a disgrace and should be booted from DA immediately. And don’t give me any defense of crap about how they may have been given special permission from USSF. That did not happen, and they publicly instructed all DA players of these rules before the season.
