Many coaches won't care unless it's a top D1 program and, sorry, unlikely if he's a Bolts player. MA just doesn't have that many top D1 players. Use DA to get onto a good team at a good academic program then have fun your last year.

Makes me wonder whether the high cost and time of DA (Bolts) or GPS/NEFC in high school is really worth it.

I don't necessarily think it's about internal drive and fortitude. If you look at the D1 commits from DA and their track record, most if not all were starters and prolific goal scorers (if they were forwards). I'm sure most if not all have strong will and desire. Yet only three are starters as freshman. Granted we can discount a few due to injury but still the stats are deeply discouraging.

Does your child even want to play college soccer? It’s a full time job at a D1 and a 30 hour job at a D3.
How many of the graduating Bolts players in 2019 have moved on to college soccer? What percentage? Compare that to other teams and apply your own personal calculus.

I think he should be able to handle it as he juggles two full time jobs very well now (DA and academics/school programs.
I get what you’re saying about bolts but you can’t look at one year and make conclusions. I think it all depends on the player. Bolts, Revs, Seacoast are all essentially the same from a coaching/development standpoint. If the player is good it will show on the field and that’s how he gets recruited.

D1 schools started compiling recruit target lists for the class of 2024 over the summer. Have any coaches reached out to your Bolts coach yet for information about your child?

With regard to bolts they are doing ok- look at 2018 commits for example, at least three bolts players are playing a lot.
